"City of Dinosaurs" (VDNH): reviews, opening hours, directions, photo

The revived VVC has recently been constantly cheering Muscovites and guests of the capital with various surprises. For example, for several months there is an interactive exhibition "City of Dinosaurs" (VDNH), reviews about which are mostly positive. Moscow is not the first European capital, where huge expositions of this unusual project were unfolding, and everywhere, where the audience could already get acquainted with it, he recognized as extremely cognitive and interesting. If you have not decided yet whether to make an interactive trip to the era of dinosaurs and flying reptiles, get acquainted with the information presented below.

About the project and its creator

In 2003, the famous Argentine producer Ezequiel Pena had the idea of creating an unusual paleontological museum. Perhaps the source of inspiration for him were the famous Spielberg films about the Jurassic park. Anyway, Pena got down to business and attracted well-known paleontologists to work on his brainchild, which was supposed to help create the most realistic copies of prehistoric animals. As a result, in 2008, several dozens of moving realistic dinosaur mock-ups appeared, which give an idea of the creatures that inhabited the earth millions of years ago.

First, for several years, the exhibition was exhibited in Buenos Aires and other cities in Argentina, where it enjoyed immense popularity. Over time, the existence of such an interesting project became known abroad, and he was invited to demonstrate in different countries. Finally, in the winter of last year, the exposition was in Russia, it was seen by Muscovites and guests of the capital.

Pavilion 57

As already mentioned, the place where the "City of Dinosaurs" is located in Moscow is VDNH, pavilion 57. This choice is quite natural, since the exhibition covers an area of 5,000 square meters. M, some of the exhibits are quite massive and of "high growth", so it was necessary to find a fairly spacious structure, which is easy to reach visitors.

Description "Cities of the Dinosaurs"

The exposition is organized on the principle of a labyrinth, in which it is necessary to exert a lot of effort and ingenuity in order not to get lost. On the territory of 5 thousand square meters. M recreated the atmosphere of the jungle of the Jurassic period with the chirping of cicadas, imitation of the starry sky and various natural phenomena (thunder, lightning, wind). Having got into this intricate labyrinth, young researchers of the past of our planet can completely immerse themselves in this "lost world" and feel themselves made a journey in time. Next to each lizard-exhibit is a plate on which detailed information is provided about when and where this animal lived, what it fed, what was the duration of its life, how many eggs were in one masonry, and other interesting data. So children and adults learn a lot of new, and sometimes unexpected, about prehistoric inhabitants of our planet.

Prices and exhibition schedule

The first thing to find out, deciding to visit the "City of Dinosaurs" (VDNH), is the opening hours. So, to visit the exhibition on weekdays can be from noon to 22:00, and on weekends and holidays, its doors are open to visitors from 11:00 to 22:00. As for prices, on any given day of the week preferential tickets cost 350 rubles, while ordinary for adults on weekdays 550 rubles, and for children - 450 rubles. If you decide to go to the "City of Dinosaurs" (VDNH) on holidays or on weekends, then for visiting schoolchildren and children younger, you will have to pay 550 rubles, and for adults - 750 rubles.

Master classes

"The City of Dinosaurs" (VDNKh) is a scientific and educational project, so there are organized a variety of master classes and classes, which are conducted by scientists with a view to creating in children an interest in natural sciences. For example, your child can "print" the skeleton of a dinosaur on a special 3D printer, learn to paint ceramics and weave bracelets, and also take part in moving games with parents. And he will be offered to fold a paleontological puzzle, participate in excavations in a giant sandbox and make a journey "on foot into history." During this lecture, accompanied by a slide show, he learns a lot of interesting facts about the past of our planet and about the forms of life that existed on Earth long before the appearance of primates and homo sapiens.

On the territory of the pavilion there is also a small cinema, where they demonstrate a scientific and educational film about prehistoric pangolins and huge feathered creatures, which are the progenitors of modern birds. In addition, having visited the "City of Dinosaurs" (VDNKh, how to get here - will be described further), you can purchase in a specialized kiosk for your children t-shirts and sweatshirts with the logo of the exhibition. There are also sold board games of the appropriate subject and toys in the form of dinosaurs.

What lizards can be seen

The exhibition features fossil reptiles, more than three dozen species. This is a miniature, in comparison with the rest, green pachycephalosaurus, and iguanodont, who lived in Europe, and quite a nice Edmontosaurus. In addition, the "jungle" of the exhibition is inhabited by a styacosaurus with a large parrot beak, a large ornithome with a tiny head, an awful feathered micro-torctor, a tojingosaurus that once inhabited the territory of modern China, and many other herbivorous and carnivorous creatures. Thus, it can be argued that in the "City of Dinosaurs" are represented almost all kinds of prehistoric pangolins, known to man. At the same time, their appearance is not the fruit of someone's imagination, but the result of serious research by scientists, implemented by computer simulation methods based on skeletons found by archaeologists.

"The City of Dinosaurs" (VDNKh, pavilion 57): the route map

Immediately need to say that the place where the exhibition is located, is quite far from the main entrance to the All-Russia Exhibition Center. If you decide to get to him on the territory of VDNH on foot, then first you need to walk to the pavilion "Ukraine" - a beautiful structure with a spire crowned by a star, and get around it on the right side. Then to your right will be a long low building of glass and concrete - pavilion 57.

In the "City of Dinosaurs" (VDNH), a photo of which gives only a remote view of what can be seen there, you can get to the special shuttles. They ply throughout the Exhibition Center and depart from the stop located at the central entrance.

"City of Dinosaurs" (VDNKh): reviews

During the stay in Moscow, the exhibition was visited by thousands of tourists and residents of the capital, including schoolchildren. Judging by the reviews, "The City of Dinosaurs" (VDNH, pavilion 57), the scheme of which is presented above, most of them seemed very interesting. Particularly often enthusiastic statements can be heard from children, since the smallest visitors perceive a walk in the pavilion 57 as an excursion to the zoo, where instead of the usual zebras, elephants, giraffes and monkeys, one can see the moving and snarling Snake of the Gorynych or the fairy dragon.
