Chlamydial infection. Symptoms, consequences, treatment

Chlamydial infection affects the prostate gland, testicles, which greatly reduces the quality of sperm and leads to infertility. The activity of spermatozoa decreases and the permeability of the genital tract is impaired.

Also, the infection causes chronic prostatitis, epididymitis and urethritis.

Treatment of Chlamydia

When manifesting the symptoms of the disease, it is necessary to visit the gynecologist or venereologist urgently. After a comprehensive examination, patients are usually given a course of antibiotics. If there are no contraindications, it is used for the treatment of tetracycline or doxycycline, but these drugs are prohibited for pregnant women.

Chlamydia can recur, so after a course of treatment, approximately four weeks later, repeated tests are required to completely eliminate the disease.

This infection is difficult to treat, requires time and money. The main preventive measure is the use of condoms and the absence of unprotected sex acts.
