Blue flowers

Many gardeners, both beginners and the most experienced, consider blue flowers irresistible. Blue is the color of water and sky on a clear day, it brings a sense of coolness, tranquility and serenity. These flowers do not occur very often, but it is known that a person is inclined to desire and love something that is rare or unusual.

In general, of course, it is very difficult to find blue flowers of pure color. Most of them have lavender, mauve, violet shades. In any case, you should mention the elegant forget-me-not for forest, iris, cornflower, hyacinth, ageratum, blue onion or royal onions, long-term flax, hydrangea large-leaved, delphinium, brunner.

Forget-me-nots forest has always remained one of the most popular colors. It is rather unpretentious and takes root practically in any locality, even in far northern regions. For a long time it was grown as an ornamental plant in castles, rich houses, around religious buildings. It spread naturally to neighboring groves and forests, along the banks of rivers and lakes. The charming blue forget-me-not flowers in many European cultures symbolize spring, love and desire.

Hortensia large-leaved - one of the most favorite flower growers of decorative shrubs. Special admiration is caused by large spherical inflorescences, which bloom from the end of spring and until late autumn, depending on the variety. Hortensia prefers a uniformly moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. It grows both in the sunny and in the semi-shadowed area. Pruning should be done after it has blossomed. Before planting it is best to make sure which varieties are adapted for growing in your climate, otherwise too sensitive to cold plants can die. A wonderful bush is beautifully decorated with landscapes. Hortensia is very popular among florists.

A tall blue flower with graceful stems, many years of flax is a perennial plant loved by flower growers for sunny places. He has thin shoots and small green or bluish leaves. On this plant for many weeks, a lot of flowers blossom. Flax should be cut in the middle of summer to stimulate its repeated flowering in autumn.

It is easy to grow onions royal. This perennial plant prefers drained soils and grows in sunlit areas. It tends to be shallow in clay soils, which leads to problems with survival in the winter. King's onion is easy to grow from seeds, and some plants bloom already in the first year.

If blue is a favorite, you can grow a kind of thematic garden, planting in it only plants of such shades. After careful selection and thoughtful design, there is no doubt that blue flowers will please their beauty from spring to mid-autumn. In their own interests, one should also use such gifts of nature as field flowers, which are unpretentious, but very colorful. Their seeds will be enough to disperse spontaneously around trees or bushes. Such a garden, of course, will perfectly complement the blue flowers. The names of some of them: comelinum common (or blue eyes), lobelia erinus, mekonopsis.

Lobelia erinus is an extremely popular plant for decorating the garden. She has a long flowering period - from the middle of spring to the beginning of autumn. The plant is adapted to a subtropical climate, but it is often grown as an annual in colder regions. However, in the event that there is a chance of frost, it is better to bring it into the room. Lobelia erinus is known for many cultural varieties, which have other shades, except blue - white, pink, red.
