"Vanya is wet" - a flower belonging to the genus Balsaminov. He was brought to us from the island of Zanzibar. Officially it is called Waller's balsam, or Sultan's. Its name was given to this plant due to an amazing feature: before rain or thunder, as well as as a result of abundant watering, "Vanka wet", a tropical flower, emits droplets of water on the edges of its leaves.

In general, Waller's balsam is a long-term culture. Its height can be up to thirty centimeters when properly grown, and the width of the crown is almost twice as large. He has a juicy, branching stem, dark green ovate leaves with dentate-cut edges. On the outside of the foliage of this balsam is velvety, and on the inner in the light brown patches can be seen.

Flower "Wan wet", a photo of which immediately reminds which plant is at issue, is widely distributed among gardeners - they use it to decorate apartments or cottages. The flowers of this balsam, as a rule, are crimson, although sometimes there are lilac, white, red and orange. Their shape is very similar to a rose.

In England, our native "Vanka wet" - "the flower of the zealous Lizzie": that's how it was called in the foggy Albion for a magnificent long flowering. Many planted it in cottages, on open terraces and on the balcony, in pots or hanging baskets. With proper care this balsam with its flowers will please right up to the first frost.

Otherwise, "wet Vanka", the flower is tender enough, can wither or lose its attractiveness. The most comfortable temperature for him is the range from 15 to 25 degrees Celsius. The soil for this sort of balsam is chosen moderately nutritious: the excessive content of peat or baking powder can affect its blooming.

The most effective soil mixture is turf ground with a small content of sand and humus. In summer, this flower should be watered daily and very abundantly, while avoiding stagnation of moisture, and in winter to switch to a more moderate regime. "Vanya is wet" - a flower that must be fed every half a month with potash or phosphorus make-up, and in spring, for a full-fledged growth of its green mass, you can switch to nitrogen fertilizers.

Care for balsam Sultan means also the cutting of wilted flowers and yellowing leaves, as it prevents the appearance of various pests and diseases on the plant.

Like all representatives of this genus, "Vanka is wet" - a flower that multiplies both by cuttings and seeds. It is desirable to transplant it annually. For a more lush flowering plant should periodically pinch, and then it will become more beautiful and healthy.

In balsams, a pest is often introduced, as a spider mite. The cause of its appearance may be the dryness of the ambient air of the flower or a close contact with another indoor plant.

Another attack that is dangerous for this flower is the whitefly larvae, from which the foliage of the plant begins to fall yellow. In both cases, you can use drugs such as Agravertin or Neoron. Because of abundant watering, a flower can develop a fungal disease, the best way to combat it is to transplant with a careful removal of the radical coma. This kind of balsam has one "whim": it does not tolerate the smell of tobacco, so smoking in a room where it grows is not recommended.
