"Biryuk". Brief narrative content

Among the masterpieces of Russian literature, a special place is occupied by the work of Ivan Sergeevich Turgenev, a great writer, a classic of world literature . His famous collection of "Notes of the Hunter" is a series of stories about the life of the common people. He describes the gray peasant life in such stories as "Bezhin Meadow", "Burmistre", "Singers" and "Biryuk". A brief summary of these stories introduces the reader to many A traveling protagonist. This nobleman Peter Petrovich, who is very fond of hunting. One of the wonderful stories that happened to him is described in the story "Biryuk." The brief content of this story will help to see the compassion, pity and forgiveness of the rich Russian soul against the background of the inhuman poverty of the peasants of that time. Masterfully owning elements of the literary landscape, Turgenev sings in his works a passionate love for Russian nature.

Constructed in the form of a monologue, the story begins with the fact that the master returning from the hunt gets under heavy rain. It was impossible to go further, the horse was stuck in the mud, he stopped in thought, and then, luckily, a local forester appeared of enormous height and strong build - this was Biryuk. The summary later reveals the nature of this person. His name was Foma Kuzmich, and this nickname was given to him by the people for his sullenness and unsociability. He invited the narrator to wait out the storm in his hut. Once upon a time, Biryuk lived very poorly, he himself brought up two children - a daughter of Ulit, about twelve and a very small child. Their mother escaped, according to the forester, with the passing burgher. As Turgenev describes his hero, Biryuk was very harsh and fulfilling, the neighboring peasants feared him as a fire, but also recognized that he could not find the best master of his craft: he caught those who robbed the lord's forest and were mercilessly merciless with them.

After a while, the thunderstorm died down, and Thomas Kuzmich, seizing his rifle, offered to take the master out of the forest. But hearing the sound of an ax, he rushed to find the thief. Pyotr Petrovich went with him. The culprit was a peasant man with a disheveled beard, a beggar and a ruffian, who decided on this deed at the extreme. Seeing this pathetic sight, the master suggested that Biryuk let the poor man go, promising to pay for the felled tree. But he was adamant and took the peasant to his hut.

The peasant begged the forester to take pity on him and let him go, lamenting what had come to his eyes.

Dedicated, hardworking and selfless - such was Biryuk. The summary of this story reveals the character of the protagonist. He knows that if everyone starts stealing the forest in general, then nothing will remain of him, so he severely suppresses such intentions of the peasants. However, living in deep poverty, he is not deprived of a sense of compassion and human pity.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to transmit picturesque pictures of nature and inimitable Turgenev style of narration. Bring to the reader can only be a summary. "Biryuk", as a literary work, has its own artistic merits, and the problems raised in it are still relevant today.
