Beetles in the apartment: methods of struggle and prevention

In almost every house, insects appear from time to time. Often we just do not notice them, and if we do, we do not always give it due importance. But are they so harmless? It is possible that the settled bugs in the apartment will not do harm, and they are not dangerous to humans. Is it so? Let's try to understand this issue. We bring to your attention a short review, in which we will talk about "house insects" and offer options for how to deal with them.

Where most often there are bugs in the apartment? That's right, on the windowsills, in the bathroom, on the ceiling, in the groats and carpets. And what is surprising - they are all different, although they look, at first glance, the same. Here, for example, in carpets and soft flooring can take up to four types of carpet beetles. The size they are 1 mm, and 4 mm. Some of them have a uniform dark color, others are covered with brown, white and black scales.

Quite often the small bugs in the apartment are not associated with a floor covering, and we try to remove them by spraying chemicals on the walls and floor. It turns out that this is fundamentally wrong. Get rid of antennas (as they are called in the scientific environment) can only be destroyed by small white hair-covered larvae, hiding in a safe place - among the villi of the carpet, which serves them not only as a protection, but also as a means of nutrition. Therefore, timely and regular cleaning of carpets is the best and most harmless way to deal with bugs.

Also, if you saw that you have bugs in the apartment, be sure to check the shelves with cereals, packages with noodles, seasonings and animal feed. It may well be that these unpleasant insects climbed and there. In principle, it does not bring much harm to the antrenes and can not infect a person with dangerous diseases, but they can "eat" and punch holes if they are not taken out in time, moms will be able to do well in her grandmother's favorite carpet or woolen jacket.

Another rather often troubling us is the brown bugs in the apartment, damaging and littering food, spices, tobacco, feed and even things made from natural materials. You can withdraw them only after finding the source of infection, throwing out or destroying it, and also following the rules of storage of bulk products:

  • Store products only in a tightly closed plastic or glass container, and not in polyethylene bags;
  • Do not regret and store old cereals - they are more susceptible to bug infection;
  • Write on the jars with long-stored products the date of purchase, this will help you in time to worry about their integrity;
  • Ventilate the storage of cereals;
  • Wipe the shelves and the container itself with a damp cloth soaked in a solution of water and a mild detergent;
  • Periodically conduct treatment with chemicals of hard-to-reach places in all cabinets (cracks, crevices, loops, etc.).

To ensure that the bugs in the apartment do not appear after careful processing, you can use the old method of "disinfecting" the products - place bags with cereals, dried fruits, etc. For a couple of days in the freezer. It will not just freeze, but will also kill the pest, no matter at what stage of its development it may be.

And most importantly, never postpone the fight against insects who settled in your house, for tomorrow. This can lead to the fact that you do not just have to process one room, wardrobe or carpet, and repair the entire apartment to find the source of infection and destroy it.
