Pancreatitis: traditional and folk treatment

Pancreatitis is a disease of the pancreas, which causes a sharp pain in the abdomen. Depending on the course of the disease, acute and chronic pancreatitis is distinguished. With acute pancreatitis, it is possible to restore the normal functioning of the pancreas, while in the chronic form the disease progresses gradually and over time a constant decrease in pancreatic function is observed.

The most common causes of pancreatitis include:

  • Abuse of fatty, spicy or fried foods
  • Binge eating
  • Excessive use of alcohol
  • Infection
  • Some medications
  • The risk of developing pancreatitis is increased in the presence of certain concomitant diseases, including diabetes, gall bladder and duodenal ulcers.

Symptoms of pancreatitis are quite aggressive: usually patients have acute pain in the upper abdomen, severe vomiting, constipation, bloating. Exacerbations of the disease are often accompanied by loss of consciousness. If you do not take the necessary measures in time, poisoning of the organism develops, accompanied by jaundice, kidney failure and impaired consciousness.

Traditional treatment of pancreatitis includes taking medications and adhering to a strict diet. The course of treatment depends on the form of the disease. So, for acute pancreatitis, the patient needs to stay in the surgical hospital for treatment. The first two days the patient is not allowed to eat anything, and after that it is necessary to adhere to a strict diet. In addition, patients are placed with droppers with antispasmodics, anesthetics and diuretics. Relief of symptoms occurs 3-5 days later, however, even after this, it is necessary to undergo a full course of treatment to prevent further progression of the disease. In some cases, treatment can last for several months.

In chronic pancreatitis, patients are prescribed a diet and medications to relieve pain.

Folk treatment of pancreatitis

Also, do not use coarse fiber. It is important to ensure that the body receives a sufficient amount of vitamins. Recommended number of meals a day - 5-6 times.

Products that can be consumed in pancreatitis:

  • Low-fat meat and fish (boiled or steamed)

  • Stewed or steamed vegetables (potatoes, carrots, zucchini, cabbage, beets, pumpkin)
  • Instead of bread, it is recommended to eat dried breadcrumbs
