Viviparous aquarium fish
These inhabitants of freshwater reservoirs predominantly in South America quickly won the hearts of amateur-aquarists all over the world. Many of them are unpretentious, easily and quickly divorced, not too demanding for feed, lighting and even the volumes of aquariums. Let us single out the most common of them.
Viviparous aquarium fish: guppies. In Europe, these handsome men appeared thanks to a botanist with the surname Guppy a century and a half ago. Perhaps, it is these fish should start a beginner aquarist in the first place. They have a calm disposition, a peace-loving character (they rarely attack their own kind). These fish are very bright (especially males), and, being similar in size and structure, very different in color. Females are usually somewhat larger and less elegant, but adult males are pleased with unusually long colored fins and mantle tails (although not all tails and fins are long). They become especially beautiful when they reach maturity. Guppies do not require strict temperature control, they do not need careful care and a huge amount of additional expensive aquarium equipment.
These aquarium fish are viviparous. Malek is born completely independent, floating on the water surface immediately after birth. To grow guppies, you need "top" algae, in which the kids will hide from their parents, able to eat their own children in the early days. The optimum temperature in the aquarium is + 24 ° C.
For feeding adults, guppies are suitable for both live and dry food. And for newborns, only dry, finely ground food is suitable.
These fish, unfortunately, live a little: not more than three years. However, ripen very early and leave a large offspring. Six-month guppies are already able to reproduce new fry.
For breeding, a beautiful and healthy couple (or several pairs) is selected. Very close births will be indicated by the appearance on the rounded tummy of a female dark spot with blacking points (near the anus): the dots (fry heads) are darker, the closer the baby.
Precisely predict the duration of pregnancy in guppies is difficult: it is important and the food and water temperature. A female can conceive her babies from a month to two.
Viviparous aquarium fish: colorful platypes. They have a bright color with various color combinations and shades, easily change color, like a chameleon. Platipecylia is suitable for those who can not afford large aquariums, but they like bright fish in large quantities. These fish are hardy, unpretentious, like the guppies, to the stern and spaciousness of the dwelling. And the temperature regime is the same.
Not inferior in beauty (and even superior to) guppies, they have one more advantage: they do not present any danger to their newly born offspring. In addition, crossing varieties of plytipecili (among them there are mirror, and point, and black, and spotted), you can get a completely new color.
Sword-bearers are also viviparous fishes. And also unpretentious and prolific. These fish can not be confused with others: their caudal fin is a real semblance of a sword, which always holds with proud dignity. More habitual color of these fish is red. However, more and more emerald, with a variety of specks, stripes. The most prolific of them are golden-cream montezums. The conditions of detention are the same as those of guppies. By the way, the sword-bearers, like the guppies, react to newborns as a live food, which they can gladly eat on occasion.
Eternal toddlers are viviparous fishes with a mysterious name of form . Cream-yellow crumbs with a dark strip along the body and intersecting transverse strips are also unpretentious to the volumes of water space and stern. An industrious nurse of an aquarium collecting accumulations of microorganisms appearing on the plants and walls of the aquarium. Adult individuals are not dangerous to their children. But the aquarium is recommended to be planted densely, as it is the algae and microorganisms developing on them that are the food for these fish.
Viviparous aquarium fish: Mollies . For beginners aquarists are not recommended, because they are rather capricious. Swordmongers are reminiscent, but the dorsal fins are much taller and larger. They have several varieties. The blackest representatives are considered the most beautiful.
These viviparous fishes carry their babies for about 45 days. In young individuals, up to 30 fry can appear, and older ones can have up to 100. In a beautiful black outfit, they "dress" in the second year of life. Males become "black-velvet", females - silvery-gray with black specks scattered throughout the body.
The water temperature should be constant, the differences are unacceptable (+ 25 ° C). Therefore, thinking about the acquisition of Mollies, remember that without a thermoregulator you can not do. The food is needed special, dry, with the presence of vitamin D. In addition, these fish are fed dry salad (vegetable garden), algae-nitchatka, dry daphnia, live food. Tube for feeding mollies is not suitable (fish from it die). The height of the aquarium (water level) is not more than 40 cm. The progeny of the mollies are rather gentle and extremely painful to respond to deviations from the rules of content.
Presented viviparous aquarium fish are really simple in content (with the exception of Mollies). They do not require additional equipment, they feel fine at normal room temperature, they are satisfied with any expanses of their water possessions, they are undemanding to feed. Malkov after birth is better to plant in a separate container (any small aquarium or even a three-liter can fit) until they grow up. But one of the main dangers is chlorinated water. In such water, fishes die very quickly. Therefore, before you colonize the animals, make sure that there is no chlorine in the water. I wish you success!
