Bartzella - peony, conquered the world

Peonies have long settled in our plots and gardens. Forgotten are the times when they were considered "old-fashioned" colors of the same color. Now in the access to a variety of pion variations, up to having the original cactus-like flowers of the Pink Spritzer or semi-double like Coral Charm. But the true triumph of floriculture is rightly considered Bartzella - the peony, which appeared in the collections of connoisseurs only thirty years ago and managed to conquer them forever.

History of origin

The original birthplace of pions is China. During the long centuries of breeding in this country, the herbaceous form of these flowers was taken out. But the peony found its second life, imported to Japan in the 17th century: here they gave him a new form of a flower, still called "Japanese". However, the enthusiasts did not stop there and managed to achieve a yellow color in the pions. Now such versions are known, as Ito-hybrids, by the name of the professor-breeder Toichi Ito. Based on these hybrids, and at the end of the 20th century, Bartzella, a peony, obtained by the American florist Roger Andersen, was bred.

Appearance

The result of the American efforts was a tall, almost a meter, plant with a lemon flower of a characteristic Japanese form, with a dark pink or red center. In diameter, the cup reaches a quarter of a meter, has a bright but unobtrusive smell. Foliage remains decorative throughout the season, does not wilt and does not fade. On one bush can be up to two dozen flowers. Stems strong, in garters and props do not need, due to which the peony "Bartzella" does not lose the shape of the bush. In the cut is worth more than other Ito-hybrids.

We Plant Correctly

Like other members of the family, Bartzella (peony) loves light and does not tolerate swampy and wetlands. When choosing a place for him, it is better to give preference not only to well-lit, but also to sites remote from trees and buildings. Pits under it are better for digging in advance, so that the land can settle in them. Their size is about 60 x 60 centimeters, and after digging out the bottom by two-thirds is lined with a layer of a mixture of peat, humus, planting land - all taken equally. As a primary top dressing is recommended composition of 150 grams of superphosphate, cans of ash and a tablespoon of iron vitriol. The amount of substances should be adjusted depending on the composition and quality of the soil in your area.

Caring for a handsome man

If you were lucky enough to buy a Bartzella peony, planting and caring for it should be ideal, so that beauty will stay with you for a long time. There are a few rules and they are simple to execute.

  1. Watering is generous, but with tracking the full assimilation of water in order to avoid its stagnation. An adult bush in a heat can drink two buckets, but if it's cool - this will be a lot. The next watering - only after full drying.
  2. Regular weeding: Bartzella is a peony that does not tolerate competitors and reacts to them with less lush and long flowering.

Otherwise, this delightful plant in nursing is no different from other herbaceous peonies. And if you fulfill his humble wishes, Bartzella will surely please you with a second flowering. Thanks to this pion, the garden can remain beautiful and fragrant for almost a month.
