"Ballad about the landing" and about the stars of Julia Drunina

Among the poems of Julia Drunina, dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War, there is one thing about girls performing an important task behind enemy lines. The theme of women at the front is close to the poetess, she is familiar with the material not by hearsay. The verse of the Ballad of the Airborne is therefore so piercing that it was written by a man brave to the point of folly, who at the same time has a very subtle soul organization. Such people are very uneasy, but they are really happy.

Brief biography of the author

Drulina Yuliya Vladimirovna was lucky to be born in a very intelligent family: her father taught history, and her mother was a librarian, concurrently teaching children music. The poet started writing poetry early, and who knows what her works would be (most likely, romantic and languidly beautiful), if not for the war. Julia added herself a year in the application and became a nurse. After the air raid, she got lost, got into a small detachment of Red Army soldiers, coming out of the encirclement, almost completely dead. Postponed trials inspired her to the first military verses. The sick father insisted on evacuation, but after his death from a stroke the girl again went to the front, having studied on the nurse. Drunin's war ended with the sergeant-major of medical service, the knight of the Order of the Red Star and the medal "For Courage". The war did not spare the girl, the consequences of injury and concussion made her disabled. In 1944 she, after an unsuccessful first attempt, prepares for the Literary Institute, then enters it, marries, gives birth to her daughter (1946). In the first postwar years, the verses of Drunina begin to print. Success was accompanied by the poetess, her lyrics were composed by well-known composers in the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. There were all new collections. In one of them I saw the light and the verse "Ballad about the landing". Drunina became one of the most famous in the USSR poetesses.

The second time she married (after the divorce) for Alexei Yakovlevich Capler, the famous screenwriter. The marriage was very happy. The loss of her husband in 1979 was a real tragedy for the poet. The collapse of the country, the crisis of the spiritual landmarks of the early nineties broke the elderly woman. Closed in the garage, she poisoned herself with exhaust fumes, leaving a farewell note. However, the reasons for her departure were not a secret, she said goodbye in advance to people close to her and admirers of her talent in later poems.

Characters

A woman is not made for war. Anything but that. Her nature is destined to live for the sake of the family, children, home, favorite work, finally. But to this, at first glance, indisputable statement can be argued: "And what, is a man nature is meant for death and killing his own kind? Does not he want peace work, love and happiness? "Of course, for him, too, the desire for peace is natural. But the poem "The Ballad of the Airborne" is written not about men, and not even about adult women. This is a simple story about very young girls - the recent schoolgirls, who were fourteen. The author describes them briefly, calling singers and chatterboxes and without going into details.

In the plane before the jump

Julia Drunina anticipates the verse story by entering from two lines. She assures the reader of her intention calmly and even dryly (in the sense, without tears and sobbing) to tell about her contemporaries. She referred herself to this generation, to those who were sixteen or eighteen in those terrible years. It is about them "Ballad of the landing force". An analysis of the situation that arose in the plane before the landing, makes it possible to judge that the girls have not been sensibly trained, for some of them, perhaps, it was the first jump, made not with a parachute tower. "Mommy!" One of them breathes out in a thin voice. The girl is scared, it's impossible to hide it. The pilot is white, he is blamed for the fact that these young creatures are subject to a deadly risk, which everything else in life is yet to be expected - and meetings, and first kisses, and walks under the moon. Three parachutes did not open ...

Time of action

The fact that the effect of the poem "The Ballad of the Landing" occurs during the Great Patriotic War, there is no doubt. But when and where? This question has direct instructions from the author. The scene of action is the Crimea, the time is January. What year? During the defense of Sevastopol (1942) Soviet troops to throw parachute landing in the rear of the Germans did not make sense. He could not accomplish the combat mission and influence at least somehow the course of the war. Landing companies produce during offensive operations. In the autumn of 1943, our troops came close to the Crimea, creating the danger of a new "cauldron", like the Stalingrad. It was then, at the end of 1943 and early 1944 landings landed, sea and air. There were fierce battles in the Kerch area, and mastery, albeit temporary, of initiative, played into the hands of the command. In fact, the outcome of the war was already predetermined. But people died, including girls, who would still be at the desk. "Ballad about the landing" tells about one of such tragedies. Perhaps the paratroopers were sent, just to distract the Germans from some other, more important operation. This is the logic of war, as it happened.

The development of the plot

About what happened to the survivors and landed in the enemy's rear of the girls, it is told, as promised in the first lines, dry and calm, although in this laconicism the strongest emotional intensity is guessed. The curtain of the shower concealed the saboteur. Nothing is said about how they got wet, where they slept several times in a row. There are, according to the text, there was nothing, they were surrounded by a hostile forest. I had to crawl on my knees, knocking them down to the blood. But not about that ballad. About landing it. The girls were looking for their squad. Where? By what signs? If this detachment was partisan, then the Germans could not find it, along with local collaborators. And the girls, as was clear from the finale, could. Although it is possible that not all have reached it.

Memory

The poem "The Ballad about the landing" crowns the bright image of three stars in the Crimean night sky, which continued to shine to the surviving paratroopers and helped the girls overcome the desperation that had repeatedly visited their souls during this terrible raid on the German rear. They performed their feat in memory of their friends and millions of other people who gave their lives in the struggle for their Motherland. No death was meaningless, faith in it gave strength and helped to survive and these girls, and Julia Drunina herself, when she, wounded, rescued fighters on the front line. And these stars shone on her.
