Avangard Machine-Building Plant, Moscow: description, history, products
Moscow Avangard Machine-Building Plant (Moscow) is one of the main production facilities that produce missiles for the country's air defense systems. Today the enterprise is the main supplier of missiles to the troops for the S-300 and S-400 complexes of various modifications.
History
Plant "Avangard" (Moscow) was formed in the hardest for the country time. By decision of the State Defense Committee of the USSR of 24.01.1942 on the territory of the formerly evacuated CIAM enterprise, an assembly of aircraft engines for U-2 aircraft was organized. For selfless labor, many workers received important state awards, and in 1945 the collective was awarded the Order of the Red Star.
After the end of hostilities, production lines were reoriented to produce peaceful products: motors and spare parts for agricultural machinery, consumer goods. However, with the growing tension between the USSR and the NATO bloc, the plant again returned to the production of military equipment. In particular - aircraft guns and machine guns, including for the strategic bomber TU-4.
In 1954, the enterprise mastered the production of D1 surface-to-air missiles designed for the factory design bureau for the S-75 air defense system. The starts of 1956 showed their effectiveness and prospects. In the 50-60s, the MZA produced a series of SAM 11D, 13D, 15D, 20D, 5V29, 5J23. They passed the combat test in Vietnam.
In the 70s the plant mastered a qualitatively new product - high-precision guided missiles of the B-500 class for the S-300P complex. At the same time, A-135 anti-missile systems were produced. Since 1986, the production of even more advanced 48N6P missiles for the upgraded S-300PM complexes, which are still in service, has begun.
In 2002, Avangard became part of the Almaz-Antey Concern. Investments made it possible not only to save production, but to bring material and technical support to a new level.
S-300
Avangard Machine-Building Plant (Moscow) is famous for its reliable missiles with outstanding characteristics. Perhaps the most mass high-tech products for many years remain guided missiles for S-300 systems, including upgraded ones. Despite the considerable age, these air defense systems remain very effective against any flying objects: from combat drones to cruise missiles.
C-400
The most advanced products produced by the Avangard plant (Moscow) are missiles for the Triumph S-400 missile system (S-400). The latter recently took to combat duty in the suburbs, adding to the complex system of air defense "Iron Dome". It is difficult to overcome it even with a massive attack of the alleged enemy. It is the products of the Moscow plant that are called to become the key element of air defense.
The complexes use new principles of information exchange between the guidance and flight control systems of the combat module. As part of the S-400 division there are radars of all-altitude target detection - it is a full-fledged autonomous reconnaissance device, which is not available in the S-300 previous-generation SAM.
Characteristics
The missiles of the S-400 systems have the ability to deal with targets moving at speeds up to 4800 m / s. However, simply launching a rocket is impossible. A multilevel protection system is provided to prevent unintentional launches. The start is initiated directly from the command post.
The missile is in a transport-launch container, which can be operational for 10 years without service. It is able to start and hit the target within a matter of minutes. It does not need to be filled with liquid fuel, solid fillings are laid at the manufacturing stage. To find the direction in which the target is located, a smart combat module is capable of a second.
The missile is designed to defeat a variety of aerial-space attack aircraft:
- High-speed reconnaissance planes;
- Aircraft strategic and tactical aviation;
- Medium-range ballistic missiles;
- Hypersonic aircraft;
- Helicopters, drones and other air equipment.
The speed of DM class rockets reaches 1300 m / s. To avoid aerodynamic overheating, the body is covered with a fiberglass coating.
Prospects
The next stage in the development of the plant is ultramodern missiles for S-500 air defense systems. Their characteristics are classified, they are known to exceed the actively used S-300 systems. They are able to hit objects in near space: ballistic missiles in near-earth orbit, spy satellites, communication systems and so on. Presumably, they can effectively hit only the developed hypersonic aircraft and cruise missiles of NATO countries.
According to the concept of state security, the S-500 will carry combat duty exclusively on the territory of Russia. They will not be exported in the coming years.
Production
In Moscow, the plant Avangard occupies a leading position among defense enterprises. Given the profile of the organization, it is impossible to assess its true scope through secrecy. However, it is known that production volumes have tripled in recent years.
Most of the missiles that the plant "Avangard" (Moscow), significantly improved. They have the possibility not only of homing, but also have radio correction. That is, the projectile is capable of pursuing the goal until it is completely destroyed.
By the way, the company is engaged not only in combat modules. Here, transport-launch cases are manufactured, in which products are stored and transported. They are tested for leaks in a special container filled with water.
According to the strategy of the state program of rearmament until 2020, the plant undertakes to provide rockets with about 200 new air defense systems. Part of the production through the Military Technical Cooperation is exported to China. In particular, 16 S-300 battalions will be completed.
Modernization
The factory "Avangard" (Moscow) was engaged in the production of anti-aircraft guided missiles (SAM) and other air defense systems in the 1950s. It's hard to believe, but back in the early 2000s he represented a sad spectacle. The production was actually inactive, the team was depressed, high-quality specialists lost their qualifications. Today the plant is an example of an advanced enterprise, one of the world leaders in its class.
Now the old ones are actively being repaired, and new buildings are being built. The demand for Avangard's products is huge, and exceeds the technological capabilities of the enterprise. Due to the increase in production by 2019, the collective will increase by 600 people.
Avangard (factory, Moscow): reviews of operators
Domestic and foreign partners that cooperate with Avangard highly appreciate the combat capabilities of the missiles for the S family. Not surprisingly, it is the only enterprise in the world capable of producing this product.
There are isolated cases of unsuccessful starts during the exercises. However, it is necessary to take into account that missiles with expiring service life are being "fired" at the landfills. In addition, the percentage of unsuccessful launches is lower than that of similar systems in other countries.
Plant "Avangard" (Moscow): employee feedback
The company created close to ideal conditions for employees. Among the merits employees note:
- Bright, clean, repaired workshops;
- New or upgraded equipment;
- Decent pay;
- Provision of overalls, protective equipment and hygiene;
- Full social package;
- Respectful attitude of the authorities to the subordinates;
- A variety of programs in the field of sports, recreation, culture and entertainment.
The administration managed to attract talented young people to production, while retaining the labor core of experienced workers. According to reviews, the salary of 50-60 thousand rubles for the plant is quite common. Specialists working on CNC machines can earn 70-100 thousand rubles. The salary at MZA is one of the highest among industrial enterprises in Moscow.
Address
The enterprise is located in Voykovskiy city district in the northeast of the capital. Transportation is excellent: the Leningradskoye highway is passing by, the railway branch is brought to the enterprise. The address of the plant "Avangard" in Moscow: 125130, Klara Zetkin street, 33.
