Rayon fabric, all the advantages and disadvantages

We go into the modern store "Fabrics" - eyes fled, the spirit caught in delight from what he saw. So how do you figure out this multicolored abundance of different in composition tissues? The further, the harder it becomes to distinguish between artificial and natural fibers to the touch, look at the label, and there are more and more overseas words: modal, spun, tencel, polynosic, cupro, rayon. The fabric of these fibers refers to the artificial. But for the sake of justice, it should be noted that natural materials, such as cellulose, are used for its manufacture.

Rayon - fabric, the emergence of which as early as 1664 was foreshadowed by the naturalist Hook of England. In the process of manufacturing Rayon, the natural technology of turning into thin silk threads is repeated using silkworm wool of mulberry pulp.

The common opinion is that this term appeared as early as 1924 in the United States, and earlier it was called artificial silk. Presumably the name comes from the English word ray - ray, as if hinting at the bright color of viscose and the end of the word on - from the last letters in the word cotton, demonstrating its similarity to cotton.

And more recently, the labels have been written bamboo, showing that the raw material for making this fabric was used bamboo. Then the US Federal Trade Commission warned that although raw material for the production of Rayon is bamboo, but nevertheless during the chemical treatment fabric no longer has anything to do with it.

When processing wood pulp is the most natural fiber from the existing artificial - it's rayon. The fabric, which has the properties of viscose, is very suitable for people who want to wear comfortable clothes. These requirements include hygroscopicity, good air permeability, softness. An important quality of the fabric is that it is antistatic, that is, it can not store static electricity.

Thanks to this clothing made of viscose fiber is pleasant to the body and comfortable to wear. Well-colored viscose will always be rich in color and luster. 95% viscose and 5% lycra with possible deviations in one direction or another - this is the common composition of knitted viscose fabric, due to which clothes do not stretch and do not deform. Such a knitted fabric is used for sewing a wide range of clothes - from light blouses and t-shirts to trousers and capri. If viscose is included in cotton, the properties of such a fabric, that is, moisture absorption, will be much higher than for pure cotton.
Disadvantage of Rayon is that the washing of products from this fabric must be done very gently with mild detergents, preferably manually. It is better not to twist them in a centrifuge, and squeeze, wrapped in a towel or not with strong hands, to dry, spread out on a flat surface. Also, when sewing clothes from the Rayon will be increased shedding edges of the fabric.

Rayon - a fabric (viscose silk), made of wood pulp. In the American marking, the word rayon will be used, while in the European labeling, the word "rayon" will be used. Therefore, after seeing such an inscription, you can be sure of the high quality and ecological compatibility of the fabric, with which many fashion designers with a world-wide reputation work.
