Autumn stars - chrysanthemums multiflora: care and cultivation in the garden and at home

Each flower is unique in its own way. Undoubtedly, the queen is considered to be a rose, but besides her there are many other remarkable ornamental plants that can decorate with themselves both the garden and the home window sill. These include the chrysanthemums of multiflora, they are interesting in that they blossom very abundantly and form a bush that resembles a ball in shape, so they can replace a bouquet. In height, they do not exceed 60 centimeters. The plants belong to the Astro family. Bloom early, before the first frost, in September-October. If you translate the name "chrysanthemum" from Greek, you get a "golden flower". However, the color of this plant is very diverse: lilac, bard, white, red, pink.

Since chrysanthemums of multiflora very much like moisture, the soil for flowers should be chosen appropriate. It must necessarily be loose and well flowing water. In the garden for flowers choose the warmest area, well lit by the sun and sheltered from the wind. The best option - a garden, which was previously occupied by legumes. The ground is pre-digested and fertilized. A potassium salt (20 to 30 g) and superphosphate (40 to 50 g) are required per square meter of the site.

The plant is a perennial. To save it until the next season, the bushes are dug and transplanted into a container. For the winter, the flower becomes domestic. It requires a dry and cool room, watering is rarely done (two to three times a month).

In order to properly develop the chrysanthemum of multiflora, the cultivation of its cuttings should be carried out when observing the temperature regime - from 18 to 20 degrees. When buds begin to form, fertilize the plant. To do this, use fertilizers with potassium and nitrogen.

Before the onset of cold weather, flowers require special care. There is no need to dig up plants every season. You can try to protect them in the open ground. Despite the fact that low temperatures tolerate the chrysanthemums of multiflora well, wintering in the garden for some varieties should be preceded by a reliable shelter. Special preparation of a plant is necessary. When the flowering ends, the stems are cut off, leaving a height of fifteen to twenty-five centimeters above the ground. At the same young growth, which departs from the root, it is better not to touch. Then the bushes should be filled with mulch from straw or pine leaves, the layer should be three centimeters. After this operation, each plant should be bored with peat or humus. With a drop in temperature to zero chrysanthemums, multiflora is covered with lapnik (spruce branches), raspberries and other thorn bushes also suit. These measures will help create a large layer of snow that will cover plants and protect them from freezing.

Not only gardeners, but also landscape designers were able to appreciate this flower. Chrysanthemums of multiflora in mixed plantings with other ornamental plants are very good, they will complement architectural elements, they will decorate the country plot. They can be planted not only on the flowerbed, but also in flowerpots, place pots with flowers on the veranda, on the stairs. Chrysanthemums are also beautiful as a tapeworm.
