Anthurium - the sheet turns yellow, what should I do?

Anthurium is also called a flamingo flower. The native land of this plant is the tropical and subtropical forests of South America. The genus Anthurium has about 900 different species of flowers. We have a popular indoor plant with red flowers and a yellow cob in the middle. With a certain care, the flower of this family can bloom almost all year round.

In principle, the plant is quite simple to care for and capricious. But if a flower like an anturium has a yellow leaf, this is the first sign of improper care. During the period of growth and abundant flowering (usually from spring to autumn), the plant needs to ensure sufficient watering and humidity. To water a flower it is necessary cautiously, it is better to pour a little, than to pour. The fact is that with an excessive amount of water, the anthurium can quickly root roots, which will subsequently lead to the death of the plant.

The anthurium flower turns yellow, as a rule, in case of insufficient humidity of air. Therefore, the plant needs to provide such conditions, as in native tropical forests. To do this, it is enough to spray the flower every day in hot weather, and in winter, place it away from heat sources. Anthurium grows yellow and if the location is wrong, for example, near the batteries or on windowsills, where direct sunlight hits it , which is simply unacceptable.

Naturally, like every plant, in the period of active growth this flower requires feeding. It should be remembered that he is very sensitive to the increased content of lime and mineral salts in the soil, so the most important thing is not to overdo it with fertilizers. If you notice that the leaf turns yellow in the anthurium, it may be due to improper fertilization.

Reproduction

Anthurium multiplies by dividing the bush. As a rule, transplantation and division is performed in the spring. When transplanting a plant, one has to take into account the fact that it has rather fragile roots. Therefore, the process should be performed with the utmost care.

This indoor flower can be propagated and seeds, however, the process is quite laborious, but interesting. Seeds are obtained by artificial pollination, which is carried out with a brush, transferring the pollen from one inflorescence to another. Pollination is performed for several days in a row. Approximately 11 months (maybe a little earlier), bright fruits, similar to berries, begin to form. In each of them there are seeds that should be taken out, then washed, placed in a solution of potassium permanganate for about a couple of hours. Seeds very quickly lose their germination, so they need to be planted as soon as possible. Sowing is done on wet paper or foam, which is then placed in shallow containers and covered with glass or covered with a film. After germination, plants are dived into separate small pots. Anthurium, grown from seeds, will blossom after about 4 years.

Why do the leaves turn yellow at anthurium, what is the reason?

So, the most common cause of this problem is insufficient moisture and watering. Why else can the leaves of a plant like the indoor anthurium flower lose its color ? The leaves turn yellow, it happens, and because they get burns because of direct sunlight. If the yellowness appears in the winter, then this, on the contrary, indicates insufficient lighting.
