And or Ы ?! Have you played or played? Minute of the illiteracy

Today's minute of education in the Russian language will be devoted to the spelling of the vowels -I- or -B- after the prefixes. The choice fell on this topic, because the misconceptions about the use of a particular vowel are quite common nowadays, when there is a confusion when spelling only two vowels -I- / -N-, both in the minds of schoolchildren and students, and adults due to lack of understanding . For example, how do you write the word: "Have you played" or "played"?

How is this possible?

One of you may be indignant: "How can you write a word wrong here? It's more likely to think about pairs of "under / finish", "do not know / know", but "did you play" or "played" ?! "Unfortunately, practice shows (and the scribbler's errors prove this): it's easy to write incorrectly ... Ignorance of the rule.

Since it will be correct: "sigrali" or "played"? While deliberately we will not give a ready answer, because it is an ineffective way for the mind - without awareness and understanding. There is a certain rule, knowing that by heart along with exceptions, you do not have to guess at all. Therefore, if you do not remember them, you should finish reading the article to the end. That's not for long.

How not to do?

How do most of those who do not remember the existing rule (or do not know)? There are two possible variants of wrong reflections from the category of "guesses":

So, the question "sigrali" or "played" some of the rules that do not remember the rule will be the letter -I, guided by the selection of the allegedly "verifying" word "game." It seems logical. It's logical, but what about the pronunciation, because we do not say so ?!

Here, others (again from those who do not remember the rules) can enter into the discussion who will stand behind the letter -N- when choosing a vowel, since it is she who pronounces clearly and is heard when pronouncing. But then they begin to think about the root-game-in the word "game" ... And the doubts begin ...

It is already clear that both approaches to choosing the right vowel are incorrect. Someone, perhaps, was close to the correct answer, and even accidentally voiced it, but the argumentation of the choice was wrong.

How to?

There is a spelling rule -I- / - N - after the consoles, which end with a consonant letter. In such cases, the letter is always written, which is heard, that is, -I-. This is the rule! And then there are exceptions (when written -I-), which must be remembered:

  • Exception number 1 - a list of complicated words (pedinstitut - from the Pedagogical Institute);
  • Exception No. 2 - words in which the prefix ends with back-lingual and hissing consonants (superInformative, inter-hierarchical);
  • Exception No. 3 - words with prefixes (and particles) that are borrowed from other languages (counter-, sub-, des-, super-, post-, pan-, trance);
  • Exception number 4: the word is to take.

Now we know the rule with all the nuances. So, back to the question: "Sigral" or "played"? How right? "

Of course, only this way: "played", "podtotozhit" and "nebezyzvestny." The writing of these words is conditioned by the general rule, they do not fall under exceptions.
