Air rifle "Huntsman": technical characteristics and reviews

Air rifles "Jorge Eger" can be reliably attributed to the segment of high-tech pneumatics. One of the main advantages that the models of the Klimovsky cartridge factory have is the price that distinguishes them from European or American counterparts. And this despite the fact that the design uses original components from Germany.

So, the hero of today's review is the air rifle "The Huntsman". Let's try to identify all the advantages of the line along with the shortcomings, taking into account the opinions of specialists and feedback from the owners of the pneumatics.

Main characteristics

High performance characteristics of the ruler are due to the presence of a relatively simple mechanism coupled with minimization of backlashes, which makes it possible to significantly increase the accuracy of shooting. In addition, the air rifle "Huntsman" is equipped with a system for adjusting the speed of the bullet at the initial stage, which allows it to be used to solve a large number of tasks.

At maximum power the pneumatics have a rather loud sound of a shot, therefore, to compensate for the inconvenience, there is a regular dundermotor covering the trunk in diameter. In addition, the rifle "Huntsman" sports type is equipped with a special nozzle on the muzzle, which reduces the impact of compressed air on the further flight of the bullet.

According to the passport data, the target range of shooting pneumatics does not exceed 100 meters. In fact, the rifle "Huntsman" allows you to effectively fire at more distant distances, and regardless of the type of target ..

Build quality

In the production of "Jorge" pneumatics, high-quality trunks are used, patented and developed by the famous Lothar Walther. Each unit is equipped with a small diametral narrowing - choke, where due to compression, the stabilization of the bullet at the outlet is significantly improved.

To the quality of assembly, judging by the feedback of the owners of pneumatics, there are no questions. The rifle is designed with love and with the use of really high-quality materials, so the high price for the model range is completely justified.

Versions

All models of the ruler have the same design and the only fundamental difference from each other is the caliber. Together with it, accordingly, the muzzle energy and the way of air supply at the moment of the shot (a reducer or a straight-through flow) changes. The distinctive caliber is conditioned by different spheres of application, and legislative acts including - on our territory it is permitted to purchase pneumatics with a capacity not exceeding 7.5 J.

Air rifle "Huntsman" 6.35 and 5.5 mm has the following varieties:

  • Caliber. The value is printed on the body in abbreviated form - Cal, and is denoted in millimeters (6.35 mm or 5.5 mm).
  • Presence in a design of a reducer. If the body has a Latin letter R, then the sample is equipped with a special reducer.
  • Muzzle energy. In total, you can count three gradation capacities, which are denoted in English: Soft Power (SP), Middle (MP) and Extra (XP), or 0.5-2.8 J, 2.8-7.3 J and 7, 3-24 J, respectively.

Models with SP marking can be reliably classified as pneumatic rifles, and the MP mark stands for weapons intended for amateur and sport shooting. In addition, the marking of MR implies compliance with the general safety rules for shooting. All other capacities require special permission and are prohibited to free distribution.

The category "Extra" is intended for hunting a small bird or a medium animal, and accidental hitting a person can cause serious injuries. Very often you can see the marking of XP on models without gears, so do not be surprised if you meet this. Naturally, high power costs a lot of money, but judging by the feedback of users, the model with the SP mark in MR or even XP can be remade in any "garage".

New model with biathlon platoon

Among the standard pneumatic samples, it is possible to single out a particularly successful model - the rifle "Huntsman" 5.5 SP NEW. In appearance, it is not much different from older brothers, but, nevertheless, it has a number of significant advantages.

Distinctive features of the biathlon model:

  • Extremely fast reloading due to the jerking of the shutter shooting hand (the same as in biathlon analogs).
  • A much smaller number of running metal parts that can easily be damaged by extreme handling or in the hands of a beginner.
  • Aesthetic pleasure when handling a rifle, close to owning a firearm.

Feedback about the new model varies greatly: some people think that such a scheme of recharging is not needed at all for pneumatics, and some, on the contrary, it attracts. Therefore, the choice of a rifle of this type is a matter of personal taste and some of their preferences.

Equipment

Regardless of the caliber, the air rifle "Huntsman" (5.5 mm and 6.35 mm) is equipped standardly, although some changes the manufacturer can make without additional agreement with the buyer.

The usual set includes:

  • drum;
  • Sound moderator;
  • Tray for single charging;
  • Set of ZIL;
  • Choke for recharging through a cylinder or from a compressor;
  • A copy of the license with a certificate;
  • User's manual in English.

In some cases, the rifle "Huntsman" can additionally be equipped with targets with factory shooting, which allows on-site evaluation of the accuracy of the shot of a particular model and thus avoid buying a "cat in a poke". Many users are extremely positive about this innovation and complain if the model you like is not equipped with factory targets.

Positioning

Rifle "Huntsman" deservedly leads the domestic market and is highly valued by fans of air guns, as well as among athletes and even hunters for small game. The operating temperature range of the "Jorge" pneumatics ranges from -10 to +50 degrees, which allows using it not only in the summer, but also in the cold.

Main directions of use:

  • Caliber 4,5 - sports shooting plus hunting for small pests (magpies, mice, etc.).
  • Caliber 5.5 - hunting for waterfowl and small animals.
  • Caliber 6,35 - hunting for medium game (rabbits, foxes, etc.).

In principle, any model "Jorge", even the rifle "Huntsman" 6.35, can be used as a weapon for entertaining pneumatic shooting. But the high price, in the absence of a spring-piston mechanism, will certainly repel the lineup of newcomers, so owning such a pattern is considered something prestigious and somewhere even adds solidity to the owner.

The most versatile version in the face of the 5.5 caliber is in great demand among hunters for small fur-bearing animals, especially since the difference in result between a small-caliber rifle and such a pneumatic is almost invisible, but why overpay?

The presence of the sound moderator makes it possible to use the "Huntsman" as quietly as possible, without fear of being detected before a small and extremely timid animal during a shot. It is for this, judging by the feedback of users, hunters prefer to use pneumatics instead of "small bags".

Advantages and disadvantages of "Jaeger"

Like any other model of a competing brand, Jorge's pneumatics are not without its drawbacks, as well as advantages.

Positive moments:

  • There is a choice of a complete set - with a reducer or a straight-through.
  • Good dispersion of the initial velocity of the bullet.
  • The rifle can be used both left-handed and right-handed, by rearranging the platoon.
  • Relatively high firing accuracy at the specified distance (in some cases not much worse than special small-caliber weapons).
  • The sound moderator allows you to quietly hunt for a small and fearful animal.

Disadvantages of the design:

  • The trouble with all pneumatics is the need to pump the balloon, which means that the autonomy of the application is limited.
  • Decrease in accuracy at the time of a large series of shots, even despite the specially designed for such cases barrel.
  • The air requirements (when using the gearbox) are too high, and even for this point the entire structure can be called finicky and specific.

Summarizing

Rifles "Jorge" series "Huntsman" can be reliably attributed to high-quality pneumatic systems. They are not suitable for beginners, because they can be easily damaged by inaccurate treatment or illiterate service.

Models of this series are designed for experienced shooters who need accurate, powerful and really high-quality pneumatics.
