Air crash in Vnukovo December 29, 2012: reasons, investigation, victims

December 29, 2012 on the Kiev highway, rolling out beyond the runway located at the airport Vnukovo, and breaking all the protective fences, the liner fell. As a result of this plane crash, five people were killed, three more were injured. There were many conjectures about the causes of the tragedy, but exhaustive information did not appear immediately, although it was very much awaited.

In this article, you will become acquainted with the causes of the tragedy announced by the Interstate Aviation Committee, and you will learn how great the proportion of the human factor is in the incident.

The event that blew up the air

"An air crash! Vnukovo, December 29! "These words flew all over Russia and the world at a speed of lightning. Headlines in the newspapers and the hottest news in the media shouted about the same thing. What really happened? How did this terrible event happen and what led to the tragedy? Many experts tried to answer these questions, and everyone expressed their own opinion. The main versions concerned possible technical malfunctions, ignition on board, and human factors were among the assumptions. The official statement appeared only two months after the tragedy.

We fill the gaps in knowledge

At 16:35 Moscow time on December 29, 2012, there was a plane crash at the Vnukovo airport. The TU-204 liner, owned by an airline from Russia Red Wings, followed from Pardubice (Czech Republic). Until the time of landing, the flight was not just normal, but even excellent. And just before the landing, there were problems. The plane after a hard landing destroyed the defenses and flew straight to the track, which is quite a busy and dense traffic.

These names need to know

On board the airliner at the time when there was a plane crash in Vnukovo, there were only 8 crew members. This GD Shmelyov - the commander of the aircraft, EI Astashenkov - the second pilot, IN Fisenko - flight engineer, TA Penkina, EM Zhigalina, AA Izosimov, KS Baranova and D. Yu. Vinokurov - flight attendants. If you believe the data obtained after a long investigation, then only one person from the entire crew was not fully competent and deceived into his team.

How it was

On that day, as, in principle, and on any day when catastrophes occur, no one expected a disaster. The crew flew out of the Czech Republic, and on the Kiev highway, as usual, there was a very lively traffic. Many argue that avoiding the huge number of victims was possible only through the intervention of higher forces. And how can it be otherwise, if a liner weighing more than 60 tons falls on a busy road and falls apart into three parts? Victims are always scary, but, given the scale of what happened, there could have been tens of them, but even hundreds of times more. Traffic on the road was stopped for only a couple of hours. Thanks to the operative actions of the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, it was quickly restored.

The conclusion of the commission for the investigation of a plane crash

The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC), which conducted an investigation into air crashes, on March 3, 2014, announced and published a verdict on what had happened. It should be noted that not only specialists in this field were involved in the work, but also the creators of this type of aircraft.

When the investigation of air crashes took place, Tupolev OJSC, which produces Tu-204, informed that this type of aircraft could have problems with brakes. This fact was recorded on December 21, 2012 in Tolmachevo, shortly before the tragedy in Vnukovo.

The public has become irrefutable facts. Now we know exactly what the Tu-204 crash in Vnukovo was predetermined.

IAC stated that the cause of the catastrophe was technical malfunctions in the reverse mechanism, and on two engines at once, as well as the crew's incorrect actions, including their inconsistency in a critical situation.

Falsification of documents - the cause of death of people

While searching for the reasons that caused the plane crash in Vnukovo, the fact that the co-pilot provided a protocol for determining the level of language competence and a certificate that were falsified was opened. This terrible truth was subsequently confirmed by the rector of UAVU GA. The reason for a more detailed analysis of the competence was the recording of conversations on the ship between the pilots during the introduction of the arrival scheme, as well as the lack of information from the co-pilot about speeding and the angle of attack during the approach.

The last minutes

According to official sources, landing was made by the commander of the crew. This is also confirmed by the inhibition, which was carried out from the left side. The reverse did not turn on as a result, and manual release of spoilers was never made. And how could anything happen? In the case of the release of spoilers, the compulsory crimping of the chassis supports, the inclusion of the reverse and, as a consequence, braking of the liner with brakes on the main wheels would immediately take place. And that's all! No disaster would have been heard and no threat to the lives of people! Everyone would be alive! For some time the crew still tried to start the reverse, this led to a temporary launch of the engines, and only with the help of stop valves they were turned off. However, all efforts in the long run were reduced to zero - the disaster, unfortunately, could not be avoided.

After a hard landing, the liner crossed the runway and rammed the fence on the Kiev highway at a speed of 190 km / h, which caused the ship to collapse into several parts. So there was an air crash in Vnukovo.

Fortunately, not a single vehicle was damaged. The liner blocked the highway, which completely blocked the traffic, forming large traffic jams, after a few hours the traffic was restored, but not completely.

Who managed to stay alive

Regrettably, the plane crash in Vnukovo was not without sacrifices. Of the eight crew members, only three remained alive. This is A. A. Izosimov - brigadier-flight attendant, K. S. Baranova - flight attendant, D. Yu. Vinokurov - flight attendant.

Unfortunately, these people died in a plane crash: TA Penkina, flight attendant, died because of life-incompatible injuries in the hospital; EM Zhigalina - flight attendant, died in a Moscow city hospital; IN Fisenko - flight engineer, EI Astashenkov - second pilot, were found rescuers dead; GD Shmelyov - commander of the crew, for some time was missing, but soon his body was discovered near the crashed liner.

It is not easy to find the true reasons and it is very simple to blame someone. Unfortunately, it is only after the tragedy that we can assert that the plane crash could have been avoided, and only now do we know what measures had to be taken, but this is already a fait accompli. The worst thing is that people died in a plane crash, and human life can not be returned. Take care of yourself!
