Abortifacients: tablets and herbs

Abortifacients are substances that can stop pregnancy before the twenty-eight weeks of the term. Mostly, the attitude towards them is negative. And here it takes into account not so much the moral aspect, as the very action of such substances. For example, some abortifacients do not work specifically on the uterus or fetus - miscarriage just becomes something of a complication, although it is the ultimate goal of taking such substances. Even those substances that act on the uterus, still cause the body irreparable harm, greatly poisoning it with its harmful components.

Among the most powerful abortifacients is the list of nicotine, adrenaline, ergot preparations, pilocarpine, muscarin, quinine. For example, even a small dose of adrenaline causes severe uterine contractions, not to mention the targeted introduction of standard doses for miscarriage. Adrenaline, quinine, nicotine and pilocarpine act on the nervous system, thereby causing uterine contractions, but morphine does not cause uterine contractions even at high doses, but this substance disrupts blood circulation in the fetus, which leads to intrauterine death.

Abortifacients, having in their composition an ergot, lead to severe intoxication of the mother's organism and to the death of the child. Often, a woman herself can become a victim of such substances, since poisoning is very difficult.

Sufficiently threatening preparations are those that contain essential oils of herbs, for example, tansy, mint, sage, nutmeg , and Ledum. Therefore, during pregnancy, a woman should give up any drugs that include abortive herbs. Any medications should be taken only after consulting a doctor.

In order for women to interrupt pregnancy until six weeks, the pharmacy produces abortive pills. These funds can be divided into two groups: those that provoke uterine contractions and expulsion of the fetus, and those that block the production of progesterone, without which pregnancy is not possible.

The first group includes such drugs as Postinor or Gynepriston. They are recommended to be consumed immediately after intercourse, which poses a threat of unwanted pregnancy (for example, after rape, accidental sexual intercourse). Take the drug as quickly as possible so that under the influence of substances the mucous membrane of the uterus has changed and has become unable to take a fertilized egg. After some time of wandering through the uterus, the egg dies and is excreted with menstruation. It should always be remembered that such preparations contain a "horse dose" of hormones that mostly beat the ovaries. Such abortifacients should not be used often, it can lead to infertility, the formation of cysts, rapid weight gain, etc. Such drugs are sold in a pharmacy without a prescription.

The second group is represented by the famous Mifegin and Mifepristone, which are also effective at the very beginning of pregnancy. Such drugs are prescribed only by a doctor, are used under strict control and clearly at the prescribed hours according to the instructions. You can not buy them in a pharmacy. At the hospital, a woman signs a paper according to which she knows about the abortive effect of the tablets and agrees to use them. After taking a certain time, they should go for a month, about which the woman notifies the doctor. After menses, an ultrasound examination is performed for the presence of fetal remains, in order to determine the need for scraping.

It is not necessary to take lightly abortive means, which at first glance are an excellent alternative to scraping. The reception of these drugs does not always guarantee the complete cleansing of the uterine cavity, and the woman still waits for an unpleasant procedure, and the very use of tablets leads to a strong hormonal surge, because the body has already rebuilt in a new way.
