A work (short summary) of Sholokhov "Another's blood" - an essay on parental love

All writers want to create large-scale prosaic paintings, nobody in advance agrees to discuss minor problems in their works. In other words, most writers crave "the grandeur of design."

But sometimes the most difficult thing is to write a story or novel about the simplest, for example, about love (youthful or parental) so that it is not vulgar, not trivial, but, on the contrary, breathtaking. The story (including a brief summary) of Sholokhov's "Alien Blood" says that our classic has succeeded.

Tragedy as a prelude to the history of unrequited parental love

The focus of the author's attention is Gavril's grandfather. He is always in anticipation of a miracle: the arrival of his son from the civil war of 1917. He does not believe that his son was lost in the fire of the human slaughter. Do not believe in this and his wife. Parents are always waiting for their son and hope, along the way, preparing a wardrobe for him.

The grandfather's wife hopes for the wonderful salvation of his son, and the old man himself, if he does, only in the depths of his heart. Insomnia, which tortures him every night, whispers something in the senile ear, but the grandfather does not have the strength to hear the voice of silence.

In the incessant waiting, the whole life of the old people goes on, until the comrade of Petra (the son of elderly parents) Prokhor comes to his home (to the village on the Don). He tells them that Petro is now not on the ground, but under the ground. He is no more. One can imagine what began: the old woman started to howl, and grandfather Gavrila silently carried off the blow, the bulk of his experiences usually occurred at night, so it happened this time. Of course, this is an emotional moment in the story (which also conveys a brief summary) of Sholokhov's "Alien Blood."

God sends the elderly another named son

Times were heavy. It was winter. The envoys of the new government went to the collective farms and selected the bread from the population under the aegis of an anti-crisis measure - the surplus-stock. It is for this reason that three young men and a chairman with them appeared in the courtyard of the main character of the narrative, and they demanded that their grandfather give all the bread that he has. Grandfather argued for a time with the envoys of Soviet power. When the grandfather had already surrendered and sent footsteps to the house, and not only sent him, but almost reached him, a rider on horseback with a rifle rose from the threshing floor, and shot the "proprietress" and the chairman.

God did not return the old man to his son, but he gave one more. Some time passed after the incident, and Gavril's grandfather decided to see how the wounded were there. An amazing thing, but one of them was still breathing. The grandfather faced a difficult choice: either to freeze the surviving boy (he was no more than 19 years old), or to despise ideological and moral discrepancies (first, the grandfather was "white," and secondly, the Soviet government killed his son) and save Actually still a child.

This is the moral dilemma Sholokhov sets before his hero in the series Don's Stories. "Alien Blood" is an extremely powerful work in this respect with well-described character characters.

Fatherly feelings (love) win the hatred, and Gavrila takes the young man shot home. By his act, he very much frightens his wife. She thinks that the grandfather went mad and dragged a corpse into the house. The composition (and its brief content) of Sholokhov's "Alien Blood" is rather terrible in this moment, unless, of course, one knows that the boy actually survived. The boy is saved.

Hope for a replacement son did not come true

Gavrila's wife was sitting by the boy's bed and day and night, when she was tired, her grandfather replaced him. They reacted to the victim of the echo of the Civil War as a native person. After some time, the guy came to himself and told the old people the details of his biography. His name is Nicholas. He is a convinced communist, worked all his life at the plant, which is in the Urals. He's an orphan. There are sons of the regiment, and he was the son of a factory.

Grandfather Gavril and his wife had pity on the boy, even though he was a communist, and convinced. And they suggested that he stay with them, although they said that they would call him Petro in honor of their deceased son. Nicholas agreed and to change the name, and for a temporary stay with the elderly. "Newly-baked Petro" decided to stay with them until the autumn, until it gets stronger.

After 3 months of his stay in the hut, the old people Nikolay came to himself, began to walk. The injuries injured one arm, but he still helped with the au pair. Parents could not rejoice at their named son. In this moment gives some hope to the reader for a positive outcome of the history of Sholokhov. "Alien blood," however, later refutes these expectations.

A sad but logical end

So it could not go on forever. The old life of Nicholas could not simply be lost, like the snow in the spring. One day, closer to autumn, the old people were reminded: Nikolai is not Petro at all, and he has his own tasks and obligations to society and himself. A letter came from Nikolai's colleagues in the Urals. They called him back home, to their own shops.

The young man lost his peace and sleep after this letter. He was tormented. I did not know what to do. He still had a conscience. He could not bring the peasants from the factory, but he could not abandon the old men.

Grandfather Gavril for the past since the wounded time strongly attached to the boy, but he understood that he should be let go. Nicholas must help his. Grandfather only hoped that at least one of his sons would come back to him one day.

On such a sad note, the work from the series Don Stories ends. The work (can not hide this and a brief summary) Sholokhov's "Another's blood" - a wonderful representative of this series of stories, united by one name.
