375 gold sample

Gold is the only metal on Earth that has a beautiful bright yellow color in its pure form without additives. Natural gold has a good luster, which is greatly enhanced by polishing. Usually gold is obtained by the development of natural deposits or in passing while mining other metals from ores. Native natural gold is usually not clean, it contains copper and silver as its main impurities, and many additional elements are found as additional impurities. Therefore, in order to purify it, gold is subjected to special processing (refining) at gold mining enterprises.

Affined gold is already produced in a purity of 99.99% in the form of ingots, wire, foil, strips, ribbons and other semi-finished products. In this form it is a very soft and ductile metal, for example, from one gram of such metal it is possible to draw a wire three and a half kilometers long. In the jewelry industry, gold is already used in the form of various alloys to make jewelry. All these alloys have a certain content of gold and, in accordance with this, they are assigned samples. The lowest content of precious metal has 375 gold samples.

Alloys of this sample have in their composition only 37.5% pure gold, the remaining components are copper and silver. Specialists of the jewelry industry sometimes even call it a gold-containing alloy of copper and silver. According to Russian standards, there are 5 names of alloys for which 375 gold samples are applied. All these alloys tend to fade in the surrounding atmosphere, so this property severely limits the scope of their application. The entire range of colors of these alloys is in the range from yellow to red, but more often coincides mainly with the alloy of 585 samples of so-called "samovar" gold of red color. Alloys that are pink are the strongest and hardest, they are well suited for soldering.

Despite the fact that this is a low-grade gold, it finds application in the jewelry industry. Typically, these alloys are used in the manufacture of engagement rings. In the Russian Federation, according to the standard, there are no lower-alloy alloys, but in the European countries, 333 gold is used, which is also used for making jewelry and jewelry. Gold alloys of various compositions are widely used in the jewelry industry, because when adding various ligatures to them, different colors can be obtained: red, pink, green and even white, as well as a large range of intermediate shades.

Often for the production of jewelry used alloys, consisting of many components. If the 375 gold sample is obtained mainly by adding copper and silver to the alloy, in the remaining samples, palladium, platinum, zinc, cadmium and nickel are also used as ligature. Each component is able to impart a different alloy properties. Silver makes an alloy of gold more malleable and plastic and lighter. The addition of copper increases the hardness of the alloy, but its anti-corrosion properties deteriorate. Also, such an alloy gets a brighter red shade.

The addition of cadmium makes the alloy fusible and is often used as a gold-containing solder. The same properties are attached to zinc, in addition, it brightens the alloy, which makes it possible to use it in the manufacture of white gold. Such expensive metals as platinum and palladium give the gold alloys plasticity, elasticity and significantly lighten them. In addition, they give them a high anti-corrosion properties. However, 375 gold samples are not made with the addition of these metals. The main components for it are gold, silver and copper.
