Zodak belongs to the second generation antiallergic agents with prolonged exposure. The active substance of the preparation is cetirizine dihydrochloride.

When using therapeutic dosages of "Zodak" (drops), the instruction indicates that there is no sedative effect, including drowsiness. The active component is able to influence the early (initial) phase of allergic reactions - histamine-dependent, and to the late cell stage. Under the influence of cetirizine, release from mast cells and basophils of histamine is suppressed, migration of eosinophils and other cells decreases.

The maximum concentration of the active ingredient in the plasma is noted in half an hour - an hour after taking the medication. The drug is not subject to active metabolic changes during primary passage through the liver. Approximately two-thirds of cetritisine leaves the urine from the body in unchanged form.

The drug is prescribed for the treatment of urticaria (including accompanied by fever) and itching of a different nature. The medication is used in the symptomatic therapy of allergic conjunctivitis, as well as all-the-year-round and seasonal allergic rhinitis.

Drops are prescribed twenty drops once a day to patients from the age of twelve.

From 6 to 12 years, appoint 10 drops twice a day (20 drops are allowed once a day), from 2 to 6 years, five drops are recommended twice a day (maybe ten drops once a day). Zodak children under two years, including newborns, should take five drops twice a day.

Side effects occur rarely, as clinical practice shows. As reactions to the drug, patients may experience difficulty urinating, dry mouth, drowsiness, headache, fatigue, dizziness. In some cases, an increased content of bilirubin and an increase in the activity of liver enzymes can be detected.

Auxiliary components: methylparaben, sodium acetate, propylparaben, sodium saccharin, glycerol 85%, purified water, propylene glycol, acetic acid.
