And it all began simply and usually, like many girls. Female trainer Antonina Levshevich from most of the girls noticed a flexible, elegant, slender schoolgirl of the secondary school in Yoshkar-Ola and invited her to train in a sports club. As it turned out, she was not mistaken. Of course, initially had to work harder on the stretch, flexibility, endurance athlete beginners, but, as they say, the result was worth it.

Zinaida Voronina turned out to be single-minded, strong-willed, aiming to win, everyone was grasping on the fly. There was time, and when Zina went to the 9th grade, she was noticed and invited to the "Dynamo". Greater happiness and imagination was impossible. Young Zinochka came to conquer Moscow in a thin, fully-washed coat and in her mother's leaky shoes.

Glory has come to the talented girl - though not fast. Zinaida Voronina was trained under the guidance of the remarkable coach Vladimir Shelkovnikov. He helped flourish all the talents of athletes, thanks to which she was in the USSR team.

Already at the age of 18, Zinaida went to the championship in Dortmund, where her talents earned two medals - silver and bronze. After only one year - the award at the European Championships, and a year later - the Olympic Games, where her moneybox rewards replenished with a silver medal for a leap and a bronze medal for free exercises. And this was only the beginning, ahead of the looming new titles and achievements.

Champion among the stronger sex

Zina's girlfriend was not only a wonderful sportswoman, she was fabulously beautiful. Many even said that if there were only men at the jury, the champion of the whole world would be Voronin. This was actually the truth. The girl was captivated by the dazzling appearance of all those around her, both in the gym and outside. From fans there was no release, and besides the sportswoman was also clever. But, waiting for her time, the young lady stopped the choice on the talented gymnast Mikhail Voronin. Already at that time in his arsenal were six medals, brought from Mexico.

It was the most beautiful couple in the world of Soviet sport. Soon there was a wedding, by the time the guys had an apartment, a decent income, and in addition - the glory and love of the people. Soon the first-born son Dima appeared. Everything was fine, at age 22 Zinaida Voronina returned to training, after a year spent on maternity leave, and in 1970 she won the world championship.

But the time passed, training was given to the gymnast all the more difficult, and the competition in this sport was always strong. On the heels came young, ambitious athletes. The girl gradually began to lose heart, to take the champion's position. Zinaida Voronina, a world-class gymnast, could no longer cope with physical stress. It was all about the damned alcohol. Friends increasingly saw Zina in a state of intoxication. According to gossips, the mother of the champion also drank. Everyone tried to save a talented sportswoman, but the embrace of the "green snake" was stronger.

Existence beyond the 101-kilometer

Unfortunately, the marriage broke up only two years later. The son remained next to his father, and then he began to play sports. Zinaida Voronina tried to improve herself, did little coaching.

But nothing developed, she again and again applied to the bottle. All this led to the fact that before the summer Olympics in 1980 she was simply resettled for 101 kilometers.

Homecoming

There was no one to help her here. But the athlete managed to pull herself together, got a job at the plant. In Balashikha, no one could imagine that next to them was Zinaida Voronina, a gymnast, who applauded the whole world. After a while the woman returned to her native city forever. In 54 years Zinaida Voronina was gone.

It is very unfortunate that talented people remain in oblivion not only among fans, but also with close, dear people. Today, very few people remember the unusually talented sportswoman and beauty Zinachka Voronina.
