Zavidovo National Park (Moscow and Tver regions): description, sights

In Russia there is a corner, recognized by UNESCO as one of the most environmentally friendly on earth - the Zavidovo National Park. On its territory in 56 700 ha there is a specially protected zone. And it's no accident. After all, there is the presidential residence "Rus". The national park includes 90 localities, as well as a scientific and experimental farm. Only 150 kilometers away is Moscow. Zavidovo is a settlement in the Tver region, but the park is also located on the territory of the Moscow region. In general, the complex occupies 5 administrative districts. But it's not for nothing that it's called Zavidovo. The Tver region occupies the most part - 54%, whereas the Moscow region - only 46%. Plain territory of it includes several rivers, including Yauza, Lama, Shosha and others.

In 1929 there was a hunting farm here, in 1972 - an environmental complex, which in 1972 was transformed by B. Yeltsin's decree into the Zavidovo National Park, which is a state complex that includes "Rus", and since 1996 it has been granted the status Residence of the President of the Russian Federation. The residence includes a hotel complex, swimming pools, boat stations, outbuildings, a hunting reserve, which services were used by E. Honecker, U. Kekkonen, LI Brezhnev. For Leonid Ilyich, a luxuriously finished two-storey cottage was built in the village of Kozlovo. The Secretary-General was very fond of hunting and receiving guests, so the hotel was additionally rebuilt for 12 rooms with a cinema and billiards. To have the opportunity to give fresh meat, sausages, fish, ham, and smoked meat to members, candidates and secretaries of the Politburo of the CPSU Central Committee, a production was set up in Kozlovo, where the game was produced. Wildlife care

The rivers are rich in fish. They are populated with red-rind, ide, sazan and bream, gulber and pike-perch, tench, asp, as well as burbot and pike. Animals periodically move to neighboring forest districts, and then return back.

Four sides

Symbolically, the Zavidovo National Park is divided into four parts: southern, northern, western and eastern. The southern part is located between the Lama River and the right tributaries of the Yauza and Malaya Sestra, the floodplain of which is overgrown with Kalina. The forests here are mostly pine, but they are also mixed. The northern part is wastelands, swamps and fields. Forests are mixed or deciduous, although spruce grows along the shore of the Ivankovo reservoir . It is a nature reserve in which militia is engaged. Thus, the large swamp of Vingar turned into pastures and hayfields. In the Shoshinsky reaches in this part of the park you can see 15 islands - these are the villages that were flooded during the construction of the Ivankovo reservoir. In the central part of the park, a large amount of peat was mined, so in the Mokhovoye and Pure Moss swamps it is now possible to observe quarries and cultivated sites. Forests in the heart of the reserve are young birch and old spruce-pine trees. There are streams, swamps and lakes. The western part is a forest with an area of 22 hectares. It is represented by pine forests and marshes.

The exposition is the personal belongings of the poet, manuscripts, books. The house-museum suffered during the Great Patriotic War, but was restored, as well as the collection presented in it. The museum is visited by judges of creativity of Drozhzhin and fans of poetry in general. The Good Cross

Another attraction is the Crucifixion Chapel, located in the center of the village. Inside it, as early as the 17th century, a cross was established, with a blessed force. They drive here also Dmitrovskoe and Novo-Rizhskoe highways. If there is no car, it does not matter. Take the Moscow-Tver train and go to the Zavidovo platform. In the summer, waterways are open.
