About the Youth Theater

Youth Theater of Altai (Barnaul) was born from a youth studio, founded in 1918. Komsomol members acted as actors. Its studio did not have a studio, so the performances were demonstrated in the palaces of culture and even in open-air parks. The status of a professional theater and its own studio building was received only in the 50s. Initially, it was called the Theater for Children. And only in 2000 it became known as the Youth Theater of Altai. And in 2013 he bears the name of the actor Valery Zolotukhin.

The repertoire of the theater includes works for children and young people. In 2014 the troupe was headed by Irina Lyskovets.

History of the theater

The Youth Theater of Altai opened its doors in 1958. It was founded by L. Trukhin and G. Tomilin. The troupe was collected from artists from different parts of the Union.

At first the theater did not have its own premises, and he showed his performances in the club of the melange factory.

In 1964, the Youth Theater gave way to the stage of the Musical Comedy, and moved to the building of the Palace of Pioneers. This room was completely unsuitable for showing performances, but there was no choice. In this building the theater worked until 2011.

In the 70-ies. The post of the main director was occupied by Zahar China. With him, the repertoire policy changed. Now the theater mainly put heroic and romantic works. These were plays about friendship, dreams, deeds.

In the 80 years the main director of the theater was M. Bychkov. He enriched the repertoire with interesting new productions on classical plays and on the works of playwrights of that time.

Many performances of the 80s and 90s had a very happy scenic fate. They became popular, for a long time remained in the repertoire and were recognized by the audience.

Very great changes in the life of the theater occurred in the early 21st century. Here again the repertoire was renewed, the directors had new creative ideas, the actors began to grow actively in the professional plan. The modern era dictates its rules and requires theaters to expand the repertoire, showing performances for spectators of all ages. With the beginning of the new century, the palette of bright productions for children and young people was replenished with works for an adult audience. At the same time, the troupe replenished with new young cadres who are ready for any tasks. On the stage of the theater experiments often occur, the directors find modern forms of work to attract the attention and interest of critics and the public. All this helped the theater to start a new life.

From the Theater of Young Spectators to the Youth Theater the collective has turned in 2000. In 3 years after this event, there was one more, not less significant. On the post of artistic director was invited to the famous actor Valery Zolotukhin. Under his supervision, a target course of future actors was recruited to the Academy of Culture of the city. Students, still studying only on the 1 st course, took an active part in the theater productions. They played episodic and main roles. And after graduation, the entire issue was recruited to the troupe of the Youth Theater.

In the last 10 years the collective has been actively glorifying the Altai Territory, Barnaul, at contests and festivals in other cities of Russia and abroad.

In 2011, finally accomplished what so long waited for both artists and viewers. The youth theater has its own building. In June, the grand opening of the new "house" of the troupe took place. Previously, the building belonged to the Palace of Culture. By 2011 it was restored, rebuilt for the needs of the theater and presented to the former Youth Theater.

The building now meets all the requirements of the team and is equipped with the latest technology. Its opening coincided with the anniversary of Khudruk - Valery Zolotukhin. In honor of this event, the first performance, which was shown on a new (own) stage, was "Bumbarash". It was the role of this character in the movie that once brought glory to Valery Zolotukhin.

Next to the building of the theater was built another very necessary object - a hostel for its artists and other employees. Now those who came to work in the former Youth Theater from other cities will not have problems with housing.

Artistic director of the theater Valery Zolotukhin was until his death in March 2013. Two months after this tragic event, the Barnaul temple of art was given his name.

In 2014 Irina Lyskovets became the theater's director. Thanks to her, new specialists appeared in the troupe - choreographer, directors and artists. Updated and the cast of actors, there were young cadres. With the arrival of Irina Vladimirovna in the life of the theater a new stage has begun.

Today the former Youth Theater has three stage venues - Bolshoi (Main), Chamber and very small, called the "Fifth Corner". The main hall is designed for 465 spectators. The chamber holds 156 seats. A "Fifth Corner" can accept no more than 50 spectators.
