Wind musical instrument and his voice

Woodwind musical instruments contribute to the overall palette of the sound of the symphony orchestra a clearly audible color - strong and bright. The timbre of each of them is so independent that the composers not only supply the flute, the clarinet, the oboe and the bassoon with their own part, but also compose big episodes of solo for them. Great attention is paid only to the bow band of the orchestra. Wind musical instrument is the power of sound, it is compact, it is multicolored dynamics. Let's take a closer look at each of them.

Flute

The oldest wind musical instrument, known since the times of Egypt, Greece and Rome, but probably born many millennia before. Even in the most primitive form - just a reed cut off in a special way - the flute can sound really musically. From the Middle Ages, two varieties are known: a straight flute and a transverse flute. The straight line - with the tip - was less amenable to improvements and therefore it is not so widely used, in the 18th century it was replaced by a more viable "transverse" sister from the orchestra. By virtuosity (from the convenience of the game) there are no equal flute among the brethren. A favorite instrument for home music making is more often soloing in great concert music. True, the wide cantilena on the flute is difficult to perform - it requires a very high air flow. The sound is cold, like the otherworldly. It is worth mentioning the most vivid examples of this instrument: the melody from the opera "Orpheus and Eurydice" by Gluck and "The Dance of the Shepherds" from the ballet "The Nutcracker" by Tchaikovsky.

Oboe

A descendant of a primitive pipe. The European version of the oboe comes from the Middle East. In the 17th century he joined the symphony orchestra, where he quickly acquired concert glory and became a favorite of all music lovers. For oboe written the most difficult concerts since the times of Lully, Bach and Handel. Later, in the 19th century, he gave way to the favorite of the clarinet. Oboe does not need to be adjusted, it equals the whole orchestra. This "singing" wind musical instrument, although, like a flute, can be masterly. But his "horse" - elegy, sadness, sadness. For example, an intermission before the second action of the "Swan Lake" by Tchaikovsky.

Clarinet

Strong, flexible, rich in expressive means the sound of the clarinet is recognized right away and we always hear what kind of wind musical instruments are currently competing in the struggle for the attention of the listener. The pastoral nature of the picture is particularly well transmitted with the help of this favorite of classical composers: Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov gave the clarinet all the flavors of the shepherd Lelya. In addition to the usual, the symphonic orchestra uses a small, bass clarinet and occasionally an alto - bassethorn.

Bassoon

In translation from the Italian - a bundle of firewood. Where did this specific name come from? In the 16th century, based on an ancient bass pipe - bombardment - a bassoon was built in the form of a huge wooden pipe bent in two. Visually it resembled firewood in the hands of a musician. The new timbre astonished contemporaries with euphony and was even called "Dolcino" - "tender, sweet." In the 19th century he received his own individual plan in the distribution of the voices of the symphony orchestra. As an example - the opera "Robert-Devil" by Meyerbeer, where the bassoons depict a deathly laughter. Many of his graphic means are used, and Beethoven, and Weber, and Rimsky-Korsakov (especially in "Scheherazade"), and the most vivid characteristic was the wind musical instrument in the theme of the grandfather ("Petya and the Wolf" by Prokofiev) and in the finale of Shostakovich's ninth symphony. In addition to the actual bassoon in the symphony orchestra, the lowest range instrument sounds - the counter-fagot, three times curved almost four meters of a wooden pipe. Now this is a bundle, so a bundle! It is less technical than a simple bassoon, but a timbre resembles an organ. It usually serves to strengthen the bass line. Example: "Conversation of the Beauty and the Beast" Ravel is the voice of a monster.
