Where to use diamond crowns

When installing various systems and communications in homes, you often have to deal with the fact that you need to make a hole in the wall to conduct through it pipelines or wires. For this, it is necessary to drill it, and then expand the resulting opening to the required diameter. This is a very laborious process, which requires considerable time and energy from the performer. Therefore, in this situation, it is best to use diamond crowns.

They are hollow cylinders of a certain diameter, at one end of which is a pin for fastening to a drill, and on the other side are soldered special diamond segments. Cutting surfaces are located at a certain distance from each other and are a part that plays a leading role in further drilling.

Diamond crowns can cope with making holes in the wall several times faster than standard tools. At the same time, the costs of manual labor and time are minimized, and the channels obtained in this way are perfectly smooth and accurate.

Some builders use diamond crowns for concrete, not only to conduct communications through walls, but also to arrange seating for further installation of outlets and switches. To do this, they drill the wall to the depth necessary to install the parts without passing through it. In this case, a neat groove is obtained. For this kind of work, they usually purchase special diamond crowns that coincide in diameter with the device to be mounted. Usually this is the standard nozzle for the socket and for the junction box.

Since this device has to work with abrasive material, it is often blunted, but it can be sharpened in the same way as drills. However, it should be borne in mind that diamond segments, soldered to the crown, are very strong and at the same time very fragile. They are not designed for shock work and do not suffer overheating. Therefore, you should not knock on the crown to extract the remains of concrete or cement. When sharpening or intensive work, it should not be heated. There are also diamond crowns that have a cooling function. They are fed with water or emulsion, which helps to protect the working segments from overheating during operation. However, such a device can be very impractical and expensive.

The practice of using this type of device has shown amazing results. This did not go unnoticed and caused the development of this area. Therefore today in the shops of construction tools you can find diamond crowns for metal, for concrete, for wood and even appliances for working with granite. They were often used even in production, which made it possible to avoid the use of a drilling or milling machine in some operations envisaged by the technological process.

Thus, diamond crowns are necessarily included in the tools of modern builders, because they help not only to speed up the installation process, but also greatly facilitate it.
