Alabaster: application and properties
Alabaster is a gypsum of a fine-grained structure. This material is used in construction, mainly as a finishing. It was also known to the ancient Egyptians who decorated them with the tombs of the pharaohs. The word "gypsum" comes from the Greek "gypsum", which means "boiling stone". The fact is that when you drop this material into water, it begins to foam and produce heat.
Alabaster, the use of which is advisable in both low-budget and expensive projects, is characterized by absolute ecological purity. After all, it is made of natural material. Natural gypsum is ground into a fine powder. In this case, it can be pinkish, yellowish or reddish. However, after the secondary treatment, it acquires a dazzling white color, without any shades.
Alabaster, the application of which provides, as already mentioned above, mixing with water, to plant best in a cut ball. The fact is that this material practically does not stick to the rubber. If the ball is not at hand, you can use a bucket, but before it must be laid with polyethylene. It should be noted that if the alabaster falls on the walls or edges of the container, it will have to be discarded after use.
Alabaster, the use of which is based on dissolution with water, requires careful handling. Polished products are stored in a dry place. In any case, do not allow them to contact with water. Otherwise, polishing will fade. Water is used to process decorative elements when it is necessary to apply a pattern.
The main advantages of this material, in addition to environmental purity, can be considered excellent resistance to inflammation, the ability to withstand high temperatures and extraordinary durability. In addition, the use of alabaster contributes to the creation of an excellent microclimate in the apartment. The matter is that at the raised humidity this material is capable to absorb water. And with a decrease in this indicator - to give it back into the air.
