Epoch of the Pharaohs: Ancient Egyptians in the period of internecine wars

Ancient Egypt. At the head of all living things stood Pharaoh, a deified powerful ruler. The ancient Egyptians obeyed him without question. Pharaoh wore a double crown (red and white), symbolizing the sign of his power over the Upper and Lower kingdoms of Ancient Egypt. It was the power given to the ruler who was able to hold a multinational people who worshiped their gods, was far from each other and generally had their own customs! So, friends, today we will briefly immerse ourselves in Ancient Egypt and find out what kind of life it is - the life of the ancient Egyptians!

The First Wonder of the World

Ancient Egypt, of course, is associated in the minds of each of us with the pyramids ... The unlimited grandeur of the power of the pharaoh left its legacy in Egyptian culture. The ancient Egyptians themselves erected eternal burial vaults for their rulers. The very first pyramid for Pharaoh Djoser was erected by the professional architect of that time - the priest Imhotep. He was both a healer, a wise man, and supreme advisor to the ruler himself. The first pyramid was 60 meters high! Can you imagine how it was high for that time? In general, Egypt's largest tombs were erected in the deserts at a time when the fourth dynasty of pharaohs (Cheops, Chephren, Mikerin) was in power.

By the way, the construction of the pyramids for the pharaohs was then the only external manifestation of the power of the Egyptian rulers, which allowed the ancient Egyptians to rally the forces, directing them to any desired channel.

From civil strife to unification!

And yet, the absolute Pharaoh's power did not save Egypt from disintegration and internecine wars. Soon the country simply broke up into separate areas that were at odds with each other. More than two hundred years, internecine wars and troubles continued. This period the ancient Egyptians themselves called the Great Disintegration, and later historians will surround it with the First Disintegration of Egypt. Curiously, the pharaohs changed each other almost every day! For example, 70 rulers of the sixth dynasty were in power only 70 days!

Middle Kingdom. History of the ancient Egyptians

This happened during the reign of Mentukhotep the First of the eleventh dynasty of the pharaohs. Egypt under his power once again became one country. This period was called the Middle Kingdom.

It can be said that this era is some semblance of technological progress. The ancient Egyptians begin to make weapons and tools of bronze - an alloy of copper and tin. After all, bronze was much stronger than copper, and hence the weapon from it was stronger - the productivity of labor increased. Began to appear professionally armed troops, which conquered more and more new lands.

The power of the country grew stronger, the power of the pharaoh became more and more influential! During this period, a hieroglyphic letter appears, with the help of which many different stories, tales, teachings and scientific texts were written, which were more or less, but reported on certain achievements in medicine, science and construction.

Over time, new civil strifes will once again weaken the unity of this mighty power, and the so-called Second Disintegration of Egypt will happen. But this, friends, is another story.
