Where is the monument to the Bremen musicians? Fairy-tale characters in different countries of the world

"Bremen musicians" is one of those stories that each of us learned as a child. The tale of the Brothers Grimm, the basis of which is taken from folk motifs, fell in love with many and won the hearts of millions of children and adults around the world. Therefore it is not surprising that the favorite heroes decided to perpetuate and install a monument to them. Where is the monument to the Bremen musicians? In fact, he is not alone. There are many more such monuments. But it's better to start over.

Historical homeland

Indeed, where else would the first monument of the world-famous fairy tale be located? Of course, in Bremen, a small town in Northern Germany. It was here that heroes of the fairy tale were heading in the hope of becoming real musicians. The symbol of the city in the form of a monument was established in 1951. The place was chosen very successfully - the very center of the city, at the western wall of the town hall.

The creator of bronze sculpture, Gerhard Marx, immortalized the moment from the fairy tale, when the heroes climbed on top of each other and looked out the window of the robber house. At the base stands a donkey, a dog climbed up to him, a cat climbed on top of it, and a cock could fit it. Local people are very fond of this sculpture and are proud of it. In the city, where there is a monument to the heroes of the "Bremen Musicians", thousands of tourists come every year.

One of the legends says that if you rub your nose or hoof's hooves, then the cherished desire will come true , therefore these parts of the donkey sculpture are especially polished. And there is a version that the higher the nose that you scratch, the greater the chances that the desire will come true, or the more desires one can make.

Even the monuments do a good deed

And in 2007, to the monument decided to add a new zest, near the bronze monument now there is some semblance of a sewer hatch. If you insert a coin into a special hole on it, you can hear from the ground the voices of "musicians": an ass, a dog, a cat or a rooster. The initiative to create such a musical hatch came from one of the charitable organizations. The hatch itself is under protection, so that everyone pays money for the charity, and not fell into the hands of thieves.

From our house to your home

The next place where the monument to the Bremen musicians is located, is the sister city of Bremen. This is Riga, the capital of Latvia. Created this creation by a sculptor named Christ Baumgartl in 1990. In the same year, Bremen solemnly handed it over to the sister city. The monument itself is made in the same pyramidal form as the one in Germany: a donkey from below, a dog on it, a cat is further away, and at the very top is a cock. However, there is also a distinctive detail that symbolizes the exit from the Iron Curtain and the end of the Cold War, a kind of political overtones.

The place where the monument to the heroes of the fairy tale "Bremen Musicians" is located, is located in the Old Town, near St. Peter's Church and very close to Skarnu street. This sculpture has exactly the same legend associated with noses, therefore in all animals the noses are polished to a shine, even by the cock that sits above all. Although it is difficult to reach him, he will help to fulfill his most cherished desire. As in the case of the Bremen sculpture, a lot of tourists from all over the world also come to Riga.

And where else?

These are perhaps the most popular monuments to the Bremen musicians in Europe, but they are by far not the only ones. Another option of such a pyramid is located in the German city of Zulpikha. Other cities in Germany, where the monument to the fairy tale "Bremen Town Musicians" is located is Erfurt, Fürth and Leipzig. There are a variety of compositions. Even a sculpture dedicated to the heroes of the fairy tale in the country of the rising sun - Japan - is even noted. Indeed, the tale of the Brothers Grimm is known and loved throughout the world.

Soviet "Bremen Town Musicians"

They have screened the fairytale many times around the world in the form of films, cartoons, theatrical productions and musicals. In 1969, a Soviet musical cartoon appeared based on the Grimm Brothers fairy tale "The Bremen Town Musicians". He so fell in love with the audience that in 1973 there was a sequel "Following the tracks of the Bremen musicians". Unlike the original fairy tale, the main hero of the Soviet animated film was Troubadour, of course, with inseparable friends: a donkey, a cat, a dog and a rooster. This musical production has really become a cult in the Union, and then in the entire post-Soviet space, it has grown far from one generation of children.

Russian creative approach

In Russia they created monuments to Soviet animated heroes. In 2006, local sculptor Andrei Tkachuk presented his own Krasnoyarsk with an amazing creation that decorates the park near the Palace of Culture named after May 1. The four-meter sculpture depicts the brooding Troubadour and his faithful friends, and next to it is a fountain made in the form of a bridge that complements the composition and embodies the path to creativity and art.

A distinctive feature of this masterpiece is the sound accompaniment: every day in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening, a rooster screams and plays a fragment of a song from a cartoon. However, Krasnoyarsk is not the only city in Russia where the monument to the Bremen musicians is located. The peculiar chamber sculptures of the author Hakob Khalafyan are located in Lipetsk and Sochi. But Khabarovsk in 2009 also became the city where the monument to the Bremen musicians is located, or rather, not a simple monument, but a whole gallery of sculptures of the heroes of the Soviet animated film. In addition to the main characters in the face of an ass, a dog, a cat and a rooster, there's Troubadour with the Princess, and Atamansha with the bandits, and the King with the Detective.
