Darren Aronofsky: biography and films

Darren Aronofsky is a director who creates not just fascinating films, but masterpieces that make the viewer think about many important things. Let's look at interesting moments from his biography.

School and student years

Darren was born in New York, and more specifically, in Brooklyn.
His parents were teachers at the school. My father's name was Abe (Abraham), and my mother's name was Charlotte. The father of the future director specialized in the natural sciences, in addition, he was dean of the Bushwich school.

Darren was lucky to study at one of America's most prestigious schools. Parents tried to give him a good education. Many other children could only dream of attending a school named after Edward Maerou. After the release of Darren Aronofsky for six months went to Guatemala, European countries, as well as the Middle East. Then in 1987 he became a student at Harvard University, where he enjoyed studying. And it is not surprising, because there were such disciplines as animation, cinema, as well as anthropology. In the early 90's he created his first movie, which became his coursework. It was called "Cleaning a supermarket." In 1991, for this small film, Darren received the Academy of Motion Picture Arts Award for students. A little later in the university Aronofsky created another tape, called "Cookies with a prediction." It was not long before the release. By the way, Darren graduated with honors from the university and became a bachelor of arts. By this time he had already achieved some successes and could have been proud of himself.

After 12 months, Aronofsky moved to Los Angeles to enter the Institute of Cinematographic Studies in the United States to teach directing. And again it should be noted his successful graduation work - a small tape called "Protozoa". In 1993, Aronofsky became master of fine arts.

Director's work

After a couple of years, Darren began work on a full-length tape called "Pi". It was already in New York. The film "Pi" by Darren Aronofsky turned out to be very unusual and original, and in 1998 it was demonstrated at the Sundance festival. The director, of course, was awarded, and the box office of his film amounted to 3.2 million dollars. Thus, Aronofsky was able to repay debts and began to think about creating the next picture.

2000 was marked by the release of the second full-fledged film director, which was called "Requiem for a Dream." It was based on the same name work. Ellen Burstin, who appeared in this movie as a mother, was awarded the "Oscar", but lost the statue of Julia Roberts. The ribbon was awarded several times and received many awards. Of course, all Darren Aronofsky's films are good, but this one, undoubtedly, stands out from the others.

Work on the next movie was not easy for the director. Originally, 70 million dollars were assigned to create the picture "Fountain" containing elements of science fiction and philosophy. The main roles were given to Cate Blanchett and Brad Pitt. But soon the shooting had to be stopped, since the latter refused to participate. To resume work on the tape Darren Aronofsky was able only in 2004, he invited to act as Hugh Jackman. As for the main female role, she was appointed girl director, named Rachel Weiss.

The picture "Wrestler", released in 2008, can be considered the most successful for Aronofsky - critics greeted her with open arms. The story of an elderly wrestler named Randy Robinson, who was usually called "Taran", was awarded the main award at the festival in Venice, namely the "Golden Lion".

Has the director become a father again?

Darren Aronofsky and Natalie Portman look great together, do not they? Meanwhile, there are shocking rumors about them. For example, many believe that it was upon learning about Portman's pregnancy that the director parted ways with his wife, actress Rachel Wise. Fans carefully look at photos of Darren's child named Henry and son Natalie, whose name is Aleph. Children are very similar to each other, so the suspicions are well founded. It may turn out that the director once again became a father.

This is a rather unusual film: it is intertwined with epochs and human feelings. The plot occurs simultaneously in 1000 and 2000. In the 80 years he was a famous wrestler, but from the former glory there were only memories. One day during the battle, he suffered a heart attack, and the doctors told him that if he continued to enter the ring, he would face death. Wanting to fill his life with some sense, Randy began to work in a supermarket and build relationships with an aging stripper. But will he be able to resist the temptation to face off against his former opponent, nicknamed Ayatollah?

"Black Swan"

The action of the film is built around the ballet. At the main dancer one day a dangerous rival appears, which may well push her back to the background. An important statement is approaching, and the struggle is exacerbated, because soon everything will be decided.

"Noah"

This picture is based on a biblical story. Noah is haunted by frightening visions of a worldwide flood, and he decides at all costs to protect his loved ones from an impending flood.

Let's hope that Darren Aronofsky, whose filmography consists only of high-quality paintings, will soon present new creations to our court.
