What Russia exports today

In the past two decades, the question of what Russia exports is not only interested in experts and analysts, but also in the general public. After the economy shifted to market lines, the structure of industrial production changed significantly. According to statistics for the past 20 years, before the collapse of the Soviet Union, large volumes of products of the machine-building complex were exported abroad . ZIL trucks regularly entered the market of India and many Arab states. Today, everyone knows that Russia exports natural resources that are mined on its territory.

For a long time, the international market was formed without the active participation of the Soviet state. More precisely, the country exported those goods and products that were produced in sufficient quantities by the national economic complex. Oil, natural gas and coal were supplied to other countries on the basis of long-term contracts. In addition to this, the USSR occupied the leading positions in the list of arms exporters. In this context, it is not surprising that Russia exports weapons. The military-industrial complex on the territory of the country continues to operate, albeit in a truncated version.

According to experts and analysts, the United States occupies 30% of the world arms market. It is important to emphasize that Russia exports modern machinery and occupies its 25% of the market. If we analyze the structure of external supplies, then the largest share is military aircraft and helicopters. In recent years, no airshow has taken place without the participation of Russian companies. The performance and combat characteristics of aircraft meet all modern requirements. At the second position is missile armament. Armored vehicles also successfully compete with samples of American and European production.

Of course, Russia's international trade is built not only on weapons systems. The bulk of exports are fuel and energy resources. In different years this share is up to seventy or more percent. In order to reduce the cost of delivering hydrocarbon raw materials, extensive pipelines are being built. At present, natural gas enters Western Europe, bypassing the territories of the intermediate countries. In addition to this, plants have been built to produce liquefied gas. The existing infrastructure makes it possible to count on long-term relations with consumers of energy resources.

It should be noted that Russia exports oil, natural gas, metals and other raw materials not only to foreign countries. The share of the CIS countries in deliveries to the foreign market occupies a significant part - more than 50%. At present, it is perfectly clear to all power structures and individual citizens that it is necessary to expand the range of goods for delivery to the foreign market. Before the economy is not an easy task to abandon the "oil needle". There are a lot of discussions about how to do this, but there is as yet no definitive and only correct decision.
