What is the USG valve, and is it worth it to muffle?

Many motorists believe that the EGR valve must be silenced. But others are sure that you should not do this. Let's look at what this system represents.

The recirculation system (EGR) often fails and causes instability of the engine on the XX. In some cases, because of such a malfunction, the machine can simply "stand up" at the traffic light. Naturally, no such problems do not bring any joy. And not all masters can cope with this trouble. Many are accustomed to "treat" standard faults when the engine is trodden, twitched or not wound. The breakdown of the USR is a very difficult problem to solve, which may be masked for ignition failure or "pretend" to suck out of non-standard air. The engine can normally start normally and work well, but soon give out strange interruptions. Therefore, it is not easy to diagnose a system failure. And not every workshop has equipment for checking USR.

Why do we need the USR?

Its original vocation is to protect the environment. Part of the exhaust gases is sent to the cylinders along the system pipes, thereby reducing the combustion temperature and, correspondingly, the amount of CO2. But not everything is so perfect, the "Achilles' heel" of this magnificent system is the USR valve. Many believe that this detail is not needed at all, but it is constantly questioned by the "brains" of the machine and affects the injection system. Therefore, if you simply unplug the terminal from this part, the tripcomputer suffers with complaints about the engine control error. In addition, the work of the engine will be adjusted taking into account the "malfunction", which will lead to an increase in the consumption of diesel fuel, loss of power and other "charms". But here options are possible. In some, auto control is through the EGR solenoid valve and vacuum from the intake manifold, and in others - based on the data of the coolant temperature sensor and other sensors.

Symptoms of valve failure

Usually this is expressed in the form of jerks when driving at low rpm. Power may be lost and consumption may increase. But the most reliable indicator is the corresponding error.

How and why you can turn off the EGR valve?

First about the goal. The valve is depressed so that soot and exhaust gases do not flow back into the manifold. As a result, more pure oxygen enters the cylinders, and the fuel burns better. Many come to the decision that it is worth drowning the USG valve after several of its cleanings. Typically, environmentalists only need to look a couple of times at the not very pleasant substance sticking to the valve to understand that they do not want it to fly back to the intake manifold.

To block the UGR valve, whose photo is no longer pleasing to the eye, you need to unscrew the bolts and get the gasket. Then, from the steel sheet, cut a new blank strip into its form, in which there should be only 2 bolt holes. Now put both gaskets in place. It is also possible to detach the vacuum hose.

Many car owners say that after such actions the turbojam disappears, smoke disappears at sharp acceleration, rise uphill and at the raised turns, dynamics and quantity of positive emotions improves.
