What does the "Tale of the Lion" teach the child?

Our ancestors knew about the important role of fairy tales, legends and epics in the upbringing process of children, we also know. After all, with the example of fairy-tale characters, it is much more interesting and easier for children to understand the moral and ethical foundations of mankind. A good fairy tale, as a wise teacher, in a playful and light form gives the kids an important knowledge about the universal laws of justice. Each character plays an important role in the learning process. Animals are traditionally heroes in the fairy tales of all the peoples of the world, and each has its own role. And what does the tale about the lion teach and what is the role of the king of animals in it?

Leo as a character

The title "king of beasts" has long been firmly entrenched in the lion. Since ancient times, people wanted to be like him, admiring the strength, courage and beauty of this animal. It is no accident that the image of a lion is so often found on the arms of cities and noble families of the world. However, together with a high rank, humanity has endowed the lion, as a character, with many qualities that are characteristic of the powerful of this world. But not all of them are positive. Therefore, often a parable or a fairy tale about a lion is designed to ridicule precisely the negative features of the bestial monarch.

"The Lion and the Hare"

In one fairy-tale forest, animals lived happily and in harmony, but one day their lives changed and became completely joyless. In the forest settled a cruel lion, who daily tormented the inhabitants of the forest. All the animals were in mortal fear, and no one knew whose turn it would be tomorrow.

Then they gathered and decided to give the lion a daily ritual of sacrificing the victim in turn. The rest of the day could live peacefully. The turn came a hare. The lion waits, but there is no sacrifice, the tyrant is enraged, he runs into the forest and threatens to kill all the animals.

Although a fairy tale about the lion, but the hero in it is not he, but a late hare. The cunning man figured out how to save himself and save the others. He found a deep pit filled with water, and figured out how to lure the lion there. Appearing before the tyrant, the rabbit said that on the way to him he almost fell victim to another lion, who wanted to drag him into a deep pit. But instead he fell into it and now sits at the very bottom. The lion, of course, wanted to get even with the rival, and, taking the hare, went to the pit. Having reached the place, the lion bent down and saw his terrible reflection, but decided that this rival viciously grates back at him. Then the forest ruler decided to punish the opponent and jumped into a deep pit. There he drowned.

"The Lion and the Mouse"

Once asked the mouse at the lion's permission to arrange a house near his home to live under protection. In gratitude, she promised her help, if necessary. The lion just laughed, saying that such an insignificant animal can not be of use to him. Time passed, the lion caught hunters. He lies at the tree, tied with ropes, and remembers the mouse. As if now it was useful to the arrogant king of beasts to help her. After all, for a mouse to gnaw a rope is easy.

There is another version of the fairy tale "The Lion and the Mouse". In it, the proud predator turned out to be wiser and decided to allow a small field vole to be parked next to his house. Therefore, when he was caught by the hunters and lay bound, the mouse came to the rescue. She tore the ropes and freed the lion.

"About the lion, the wolf and the fox"

Once a lion and a wolf met to decide who should get more prey in the forest. Thought well and decided that it would be easier for the two of us to hunt, which means that there will be more food. The wolf was very flattered by the friendship with the lion. Therefore, when he met the fox, he began to show off his terrible friend. Then he suggested that she join them. The fox did not really want to, but she did not dare refuse the wolf. While there was a lot of booty, it was enough for everyone without sharing. But bad times have come, and only the ox, the donkey and the lamb were able to get on the hunt. Then the lion started talking about the section and asked the wolf to share the food. Gray said that the lion will get the bull, he took the donkey, and left the fox a lamb.

This is a fairy tale about a lion, so it's easy to guess that there will not be an equal division in it. For the offer to divide the food in this way the wolf was mercilessly beaten. After the lion turned to the fox with the same proposal. The cheat looked at the wolf and told the lion to take everything. For this division, the king of beasts praised her and asked where she had learned so well. The fox once again looked at the wolf and pointed at him. Then she quickly ran into the forest.

"Boniface Vacation"

We remember the kind and funny circus lion named Boniface on the beautiful cartoon of Soviet times. This hero came to light thanks to the Czech writer Milos Matsourek, who wrote a fairy tale "Boniface and his nephews." The plot of the tale is basically similar to the cartoon. With one exception.

Recall that in the cartoon circus lion learned that his best viewers - children - go on vacation in the summer and go on vacation. Boniface asked his director to give him leave to visit the grandmother who lives in Africa. However, instead of basking in the sun, during the rest of his vacation time he entertained circus tricks of African children. After all, there is nothing better than giving others joy.

In the book version Boniface spoke before the lions - his nephews.
