What crab sticks are made of

When crab sticks started appearing on the domestic market, they were treated with caution, like with any new product. But it did not last long, and soon everyone knew what crab sticks were, many firms started their production because of the increasing demand, prices fell and quality along with them. Of what do crab sticks at first, no one even thought: clearly said the "crab". However, not all thoughtlessly use products without even reading the packaging and composition. Here those who studied it, clearly know what crab sticks are made of: surimi. And what is it?

Surimi is a kind of mixture of finely ground fish. In the East it is made from a variety of varieties, depending on what the price is set. But we do not need expensive and valuable - no one will buy. So do surimi for crab sticks from pollock and blue whiting. And all would be nothing, if it really was so. In the first sticks and it was. And even now you can find such, mainly from new manufacturers, which consumers need to buy. But from what do crab sticks, if not from the above-mentioned fish? From cod, red perch and hake. Fish are cheaper and do not need to touch. Moreover, in the surimi go and waste fisheries: damaged fish for freezing, transportation, fishing, small fry and sick.

But this is not all! What the crab sticks consist of may suggest packaging, if, of course, the manufacturer honestly pointed out all the data. Ideally, it's still: starch, water, egg white, preservatives, vegetable oil, dyes, taste improvers (salt, sodium glutamate, sugar). What makes crab sticks for ordinary consumers is a mystery for a long time, tk. And the fish is already becoming too expensive for our businessmen. But there is such a miracle product, from which you can do much, there would be a desire - soy. In itself, it poses no danger, but it is only necessary to recall the controversies that are being conducted about genetically modified products, and it immediately becomes clear that children can not be given it at all. Yes, and it's better to refrain from such a meal sometimes. The only plus - under the new laws on the protection of consumers' rights, the manufacturer is obliged to indicate whether its products include genetically modified components.

Naturally, for example, in Japan, crab sticks are not at all like ours. There, everyone chooses products by their pockets and surimi is used not only for crab sticks. But one thing our and their products have in common: the name and flavor, thanks to which this culinary "wonder invention" is called "crab". And for a dense forest of similarity add a dye, in color reminiscent of crab meat. By the way, if you managed to notice, then the crabs for these purposes never used - this is a very expensive product will. Yes, and why, if the meat is so tasty and useful.

If you analyze what crab sticks are made of, then you can confidently say that they can cause allergies, because the dyes and stabilizers that make up them often contribute to this. Careful with this product you need to be and those who have an allergy to egg white. Plus, all the same chemical inclusions can disrupt the digestive system.

After reading what the crab sticks consist of and the caloric content of the product, you can consider it to be a dietary one, which many people who soberly "want to lose weight" are calming. But this is just self-deception. Calories are really small, but there is a large amount of sugar, and hence carbohydrates. They are not only easy to digest, but also quickly turn into another source of calories. So, this food is not for those who lose weight. And not for children. And not for those who are allergic to components of crab sticks or weak digestion. And not for those who care about their health ... And for whom? But they are delicious ...

We strongly recommend reading not only what crab sticks do, but also packaging of all products that do not grow in your garden! Health to you!
