What and how to clean mangoes?

Mango is a sweet and juicy fruit that grows in the tropics. Its characteristic features: a thin skin, tender and fragrant flesh. The color of the mango can be different, ranging from green-yellow to purple-red.

Some people use this fruit for food separately, others cut it into pieces and add it to salads. Some housewives prefer to serve it on the table in the form of salsa or chutney as a side dish to dishes of fish and meat. In addition, from the mango, you get great cocktails, mild purees and cakes. However, to cook anything from it is only half the job. First you need to have information about how to clean the mango. It is in this issue that many mistresses face certain difficulties. To clean the mango at home, you must have prepared the following items:

  • Knives for cutting bread and fruits.

Before we tell you how to clean a mango, consider its structure. So, in the very center is a flat bone resembling a huge sunflower seed. It is quite tight against the pulp. Therefore, some effort will be required to remove it. Of course, you can cut the fruit in half and remove the stone. But this is not the best idea, because you just get dirty from head to foot with juice, which is very sticky. How to clean mangoes to prevent this happening? You can carefully remove the skin from it and eat it as an exotic eskimo. Do not tolerate platitudes and simple options? Then prepare a delicious and appetizing dish with the addition of pieces of mango.

On the table there should be two knives - bread (large) and fruit (small). Put the fruit on the chopping board. Carefully inspect it to find a soft oblong fossa. We pick up a big knife and cut off on the left side two pieces of semicircular shape. We do this extremely accurately. Try to cut as close to the bone as possible.

Now you need to take a small knife (for fruit). With the other hand, hold one of the "cheeks" of the fruit, which lies on the board flesh up. We make several thin lines parallel to each other. The distance between the strips is 1-1.5 cm. Try not to touch the skin. Next, rotate the mango 90 degrees and repeat the operation. With the second "cheek" we do the same.

As a result, you should get two halves of fruit, the flesh of which is a square. However, it is still in the peel. The situation can be corrected as follows. We put a bowl in front of us, take one of the mango halves with two hands and press the fingers on the skin, turning it inside out. The flesh in the form of squares resembles a hedgehog. Carefully cut it into a bowl with a fruit knife. So do the second half. You will only have to trim the flesh around the stone, peel and cut into small squares. It will not take you much time.
