Weight and height of the child in 6 years

The main indicators that reflect the correct physical development are the weight and height of the child. At 6 years old little man is experiencing another transition period, which is accompanied by an active jump in mental and physical development.

Loving parents always watch closely how their child grows and develops, fearing to miss something important or not to notice deviations. Often, all anxieties remain unreasonable, but this does not help them to disappear.

In order to dispel the doubts of Mom and Dad, and especially grandmothers, about the fact that something is wrong with the physical development of the baby, this article is written in which it is possible to find the basic parameters of children of 6 years old.

Factors that affect the physical development of the child

Adults are so different: tall and low, plump and lean. To say that a tall and stately man is abnormal, because he seems simply huge against the backdrop of low and thin, is wrong. The same applies to children.

The growth of a child of 6 years may be within a wide range, which was composed of specialists from the World Health Organization (abbreviated WHO). It is slightly different from the domestic Russian table, which narrows the children's parameters somewhat.

But nevertheless, the weight and height of the child at 6 years are affected by several factors that look like this:

  • Genetic predisposition. Very often high parents grow tall children and, on the contrary, low-growth children have low descendants. It does not happen, of course, without exceptions, but in this case necessarily in the genealogical tree there is a person with high growth.
  • Physical activity of the child. For a full-fledged growth of a young organism, it is necessary to begin to engage in some kind of sport or at least run, jump and plenty of jumping on the playground.
  • Proper balanced nutrition. It is especially important to supply the baby's body with proteins and calcium for proper growth of bones and muscles.
  • Environmental factors.
  • Diseases that occur when a child starts attending school. Also, ailments often appear due to a polluted environment. They can weaken and inhibit the development of a young organism.

Acceleration

Considering the question of the growth of a child at 6 years old, one can not fail to mention the phenomenon of modernity, like acceleration. This process affects mainly the population of developed countries, beginning with the twenties of the twentieth century, and it is characterized by the fact that children and adolescents in their physiological development are ahead of their peers from the previous generation.

This concerns not only growth. And also weight, a change of milk teeth and puberty of children and adolescents. Now, for example, the growth of a child of 6 years corresponds to those indicators that were the norm thirty years ago for ten-year-olds. There is a difference between children and by gender. Let us consider this in more detail.

Weight and height of the child in 6 years: girl

The norm of the physiological parameters of the development of boys differ from the girls, the boys are usually taller and heavier than their peers.

Up to a year, children grow very fast and develop. In the period from one year to six years, the growth rate is decreasing. But in the period from six to eight children expect another leap in physiological development. The growth of the limbs predominates, although this also applies to the trunk too. Let it be slower, but its length increases twofold compared with infants.

In a short period of time, children can add a couple of centimeters. There are times when they grow up to a whole decimeter in a year. The physiological parameters for girls and boys differ during this period. Boys are usually larger than their female counterparts.

Growth indicators for six-year-old girls are as follows (in centimeters):

  • 99,8-100,5 is the lower border of a girl of low height for six years, and 125,4-130,5 is the upper limit of growth, at which the baby is considered very high. But these indicators are within the norm.
  • In six years and six months the indicators are as follows: from 102.1-107.4 to 128.6-133.9 - these are the lower and upper boundaries.

Consider what the weight of a child should be in 6 years. A girl (the norm should be perceived as an approximate landmark) can have such a body mass:

  • Up to 6.5 years, the lower and upper thresholds are the following: from 13.5-15.3 kg to 27.8-33.4 kg for very large babies;
  • At the age of 6.5 to 7 years, girls are considered to be thin with a body weight of 14.1 to 16.0 kg. Babies weighing from 29.6 to 35.8 kg are large, but within the limits of the norm.

Growth of a boy at 6 years old

In boys, the indicators are somewhat different:

  • With growth in the range of 101.2-106.1 cm a six-year-old child is considered to be very short, and at 125.8-130.7 cm - very high.
  • As for children of 6.5 years of age, their growth parameters are as follows: 103.6-108.7 cm are very low boys, and growth in the range of 129.1-134.2 cm corresponds to high babies.

Weight of child in 6 years: boy

The WHO standard for male toddlers has the same wide range as for girls:

  • Weight within 14,1-15,9 kg is considered below the norm, and with a body weight of 27,1-31,5 kg - above the average for boys under 6,5 years;
  • At the age of 6,5 years and up to 7 years the weight range of boys - from 14,1-16,0 kg and up to 29,6-35,8 kg.

All the indicators that take place in these ranges are considered normal, well, and if your child's physiological parameters are lower or higher than those presented here, then contact the pediatrician to find out the reasons for the deviation from the norm.
