We melt the soap in the microwave: technology. Preparation of author's soap from remnants

Microwave - a favorite "shell" of homegrown experimenters. That only it was not put: phones, light bulbs, bags with chips and CDs. Soap did not escape this fate. In the microwave, as it turned out, it can behave quite dignified. It is only necessary to know how to direct the energy of electromagnetic waves in the right direction.

What happens to soap in the microwave oven?

Food in the microwave is heated by the action of electromagnetic waves on water molecules, which are contained in almost all products. Moisture is also present in the soap, which means that when something is placed in the oven, something must happen. Indeed, numerous commercials from the vastness of the Internet teach us that if you put the soap in a microwave oven in a whole piece and set a high power, a magnificent foam cloud will soon form inside the furnace. This is because water, which is present in the liquid soap, boils and turns into steam. The steam tends to free itself, and the solid structure of the soap is broken.

I must say, the foamy cloud looks impressive. But you need to understand that the experiment can be fatal for the furnace if the moisture gets into the holes on its internal walls.

Soap in the microwave: can you make something useful out of it?

In general, putting lump soap in the oven can lead to sad consequences, especially if it contains additives of incomprehensible origin: who can know how they will react to electromagnetic waves?

But the microwave, as it turned out, is ideal for melting remnants with the goal of turning them into author's soap. However, to create something worthwhile, you have to practice a little.

In addition to remnants, you will need: a microwave oven, a film or a silicone cover, some water or milk, a knife or grater and additives, if desired.

Technology of melting

Consider in detail how to melt the soap in the microwave without serious consequences.

First, grind the grinders on a grater or cut them (the smaller, the more uniform and faster they melt). Shake them in a heat-resistant vessel, pour in some hot water or milk and cover the shavings with a silicone lid or film to prevent moisture evaporation. Place the dishes inside the microwave oven, set high power (600-800 W) and turn on the oven for 30-45 seconds. During this time, the mass does not melt completely. Stir it and put it back in the oven, but this time for 15 seconds. Why such accuracy? The fact is that soap should not overheat. The optimum temperature for it is 60-65 ° C.

Repeat the procedure until the mix becomes viscous and uniform. Then additives (essences, glycerin, dyes, oils, etc.) can be poured into it and placed in the oven for another 15 seconds. Done! Soap mass can be poured on the molds pre-lubricated with olive oil.

What to look for

If you have never melted soap in a microwave, carefully read this section.

1. In your mix there should not be pieces of laundry soap, because it smells. When heated, the "fragrance" is amplified, and the microwave oven is well "canned". The same goes for other "fragrant" bases.

2. It is very important to maintain the desired melting point. This can be done with a thermometer for liquids. Make sure that no bubbles appear on the surface of the mass, indicating the boiling. Overheated soap dries quickly and loses the ability to foam.

3. All additives (they will be discussed below) are applied at the last stage of melting (to avoid smell). Recall: you are cooking Soap in the microwave from remnants, that is, individual pieces, each of which has its own color and smell. If the use of additives is not planned, all components should be well combined with each other in these parameters.

Soap in the microwave: how to make the original product

By engaging your creative thought, you can make more interesting and attractive products than simple bars of soap, which have an exclusively utilitarian function.

So, to create a multi-layer soap, you need to sort the pieces by colors, place them in different containers and melt them (or melt the whole mass, and then divide it into several parts and paint each separately). To pour basics of different colors into molds it will be necessary to consistently so that each layer has time to grasp.

For "marble", that is, decorated with divorce, soap will also require the basis of several matching colors. Only to pour it into forms can be arbitrary. In addition, you will not need to wait for the full hardening of each fill. It will be enough that it will be slightly thickened. As a result, you will get a beautiful block with patterns.

And, finally, you can make "confetti" - a transparent soap with large colored fragments inside. To do this, it is necessary to chop the remnants extensively, distribute them in the form, sprinkle with alcohol and pour the molten base.

Additives

To make the soap elegant, fragrant and useful, apply additives: essential oils, food colors, glycerin, essences. Do not overdo it with the amount (the oven absorbs odors) and never make too complex mixes. If you are preparing a multi-colored soap, when pouring into the molds, often sprinkle the base with alcohol. This is to ensure that the masses of different colors are firmly adhered to each other.

Now you know enough to prepare yourself a soap in the microwave. Why not try it today?
