Wall panels - beauty and practicality

Construction - a huge industry, which not only provides employment for a large army of workers, but also stimulates manufacturers to produce a wide variety of materials. This applies not only to construction products themselves, but also to the finishing of buildings. Old methods and materials take a backseat, they are replaced by wall facade panels.

Panel construction

An ancestor of modern materials for the decoration of buildings can be considered "lining". She allowed to finish "not wet" way. Engineers and technologists saw in this segment of works a huge potential, and the light appeared wall facade panels.

The product itself has in its composition:

  • Framework;
  • A layer of insulation material;
  • Decorative facade.

The main task in the production is to ensure durable, durable, convenient and easy-to-install lining. The panels differ in color, material of manufacture, dimensions, installation methods.

Varieties

It is not enough to build a building, it needs to be beautifully decorated. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account the surrounding landscape, to create an attractive appearance, to guarantee quality. The wall facade panels are the best way to cope with this task.

In the market there are several varieties of such building material:

  1. Fiber cement. They consist of cement, mineral constituents (90%) and cellulose fibers (10%). The surface is covered with a special inorganic film, capable of self-cleaning. With their help, you can simulate various materials: brick, stone and others. In addition, the front side can be trimmed with a profile, outer corners. Coating: acrylic, polyurethane, granite and marble chips.
  2. Metal facade panels with polymer coating. For the production of galvanized steel and aluminum. The top layer is either smooth or perforated. Polymer coating: plastisol, polyester, pural. With a thickness of 0.4 to 0.56 mm, the weight varies from 7 to 10 kg (1 m 2) . Such panels can imitate a natural surface (logs, plaster). They can be painted in any color, glossy or matte.
  3. Under a brick or stone. The main material is a polypropylene-based resin. They are very popular.
  4. Of wood fibers. In fact, they are fibers of split wood, glued under the press. Polymer materials or veneers are used for facing. It looks like the surface of wood.
  5. Vinyl curtain panels are made of polymers, dyes, stabilizers and modifiers. Help protect the house from harmful environmental influences, provide a presentable view of the building. This is an inexpensive and popular type of cladding.
  6. From granite and stone. Modern technologies allow to make finishing panels from natural materials. Advantages - durability (more than 50 years), frost resistance, incombustibility. The main drawback is very heavy weight, poor sound insulation and high thermal conductivity. These are expensive facade panels. The price for one square meter reaches 200 $.
  7. Glass panels. For the time being, they are mainly used for executive-class houses. A rare example of facade decoration. The glass used for finishing is divided into classes:
  • "A" - stands the blow;
  • "B" - resists burglary and vandalism;
  • "B" is bullet-proof.

Application area

Wall panels are used not only for their intended purpose. Schools, hospitals, shopping centers, houses, airports, sports facilities, industrial shops - they are used in almost any building. The quality and variety of panels allows them to be applied on the interior decoration of the premises.

Installation

Finishing the house with facade panels involves two main types of installation:

  1. Wall mount. Mounted on a perfectly flat wall surface. Fasteners (clamps, screws, rivets) depend on the type of product.
  2. Fastening on a lathing. A popular method that eliminates the time-consuming process of leveling walls. There are two options: either the crate is manufactured by the builders immediately before the facing of the building, or it comes complete with slabs. The technology in both cases is the same: first the crate is mounted, then the wall panels are attached to it.

The products themselves can be mounted in any form - horizontally, vertically, inclined. This gives scope for the most daring and unexpected design decisions.

Advantages

In the modern market of finishing materials, there is very high competition. Each kind of panels has its pros and cons. General advantages for all product categories:

  • The widest choice of textures and colors;
  • The possibility of mounting in any weather and in any climatic zone;
  • The ability to choose the size and shape of the panel;
  • Ease of lining allows you to use the material on old buildings with a weak foundation;
  • Ease of care (the usual jet of water under pressure will wash away all the dirt from the facade);
  • Lower costs for facade panels (the price is very democratic - from $ 1.5 per 1m 2 ).

Such material will help significantly save time and money for finishing the facade.
