Visible pear: description and characteristics of the variety

Thanks to the constant work of Russian and foreign breeders, most fruit trees are now widely spread in all regions of our country. This is also true of pears, of which there are many varieties. All of them differ in terms of maturation, yield, taste. Someone prefer soft, juicy and sweet fruits, someone - fruits with a thicker flesh and pleasant sourness.

But today we will not consider all the popular varieties, and it is impossible. We will tell only about one of them. Grusha Vidnaya will become the heroine of our article.

From the history of the variety

Vidnaya is a pear belonging to late-summer varieties of Russian breeding. This species was bred in 1958 by Moscow breeders during the work on the pollination of the hybrid VI-53-67 with a mixture of pollen of the famous southern pear varieties. The authors of the development are NV Efimova and Yu. A. Petrov. Sometimes this variety is called hummocky. This is due to the external characteristics of the fruit.

At the end of the seventies of the last century, the brand was classified as elite. Today it is widely distributed in the gardening of Central Russia and in the Moscow region, it is regionalized for the Central region. Over the years, he has not lost his popularity for gardeners.

Pear Vidnaya: description

The young tree has a dense and spreading crown, but over time it acquires a pyramidal shape and medium thickening. The crown consists of powerful branches with large numerous rings. The first fruiting occurs five years after a year of growth in the nursery.

Trees are distinguished by a fairly high winter hardiness, as well as resistance to many fungal diseases and pests. Vidnaya is a pear giving up to 100-150 kg of harvest from an adult tree.

Shoots and leaves

Pear is characterized by shoots of medium thickness, rather long, painted in a light brown color. The leaves are smooth, shiny, with slightly raised jagged edges. The middle length and thickness of the petiole are lancet stipules.

Fruit

Variety of pears Vidnaya has medium or large fruits (150-200 g) of elongated shape with uneven ribbed surface. Their main color is greenish-yellow, the coverslip is a light orange tan.

Peduncle curved, of medium thickness and length. Calyx closed, middle, located above the funnel funnel. Closed seminal chambers are filled with elongated, medium-sized brown seeds.

The flesh is very juicy, white, has excellent taste qualities. Taste - and sweet and sour. Pear Vidnaya, the photo of which you see in the article, differs non-simultaneous ripening of fruits, so the collection is carried out in two or three stages. Much better they are stored on the tree, but after harvesting, unfortunately, the fruit is not stored for a long time. Used for fresh consumption, suitable for heat treatment.

Useful properties of pears

In addition to excellent qualities, Vidnaya is a pear, the fruit of which includes many useful substances:

  • Sugar (glucose, sucrose, fructose);
  • Organic acids (malic, citric and other);
  • cellulose;
  • tannins;
  • Pectins;
  • Phytoncides;
  • Enzymes;
  • Vitamins E, A, P, C, PP, B;
  • Flavonoids;
  • Macro- and microelements (iron and potassium, calcium and iodine, magnesium and copper, fluorine and molybdenum, zinc and phosphorus).

Pears strengthen the immune system, have a powerful fortifying effect. Both fresh and dried fruits have antipyretic and antitussive effect, help in the treatment of colds. Pears favorably affect the work of the heart and blood vessels, soothe the heart palpitations, significantly improve the composition of the blood.

Selecting a landing site

Pear Vidnaya (a description of the variety, its merits and demerits today are quite often found in popular editions on gardening) needs a well-lit place. Planted in the shade, it can respond to the wrong landing by reducing the sugar content of the fruit and significantly reducing the yield.

Pear does not like stagnation of water. If your site is likely to flood the tree, more precisely, its roots, you should make a good drainage or plant it on an artificial hill. If this is not done, the plant will develop poorly and may even die.

And what kind of soil is suitable for such a tree as the pear Vidnaya? Comments of gardeners indicate that the variety prefers sandy-chernozem soils. Allowed to land on sandy or loamy (with the necessary care and annual application of fertilizers).

Landing

It does not tolerate strong penetration when planting Vidnaya. The pear needs to raise the root collar of the seedling by five to seven centimeters above the soil level. If you have purchased a young tree with a bare root system, cut off all the foliage. The planting pit for the seedlings should not be more than one hundred and twenty centimeters deep with a diameter of eighty centimeters.

On a site with peat soils, a smaller pit can be used. The root system must be treated in a clay bug before planting. Immediately after planting, the plant needs to mulch the stump and abundant watering.

Features of care

Vidnaya is a pear that does not require complex care. For its active growth and full development it is necessary to observe simple rules:

  • Maintain the soil moisture index at the root depth.
  • Nitrogen-containing fertilizing should be made in equal proportions during the first loosening of the soil in spring (the fertilizer rate should be from thirty to thirty-five kilograms per hectare), and also during the active growth of shoots.
  • Organic fertilizers are introduced no more often than once in two, and under an adult plant - in three years. Use a solution of bird droppings, mullein, humus or compost.
  • Potassium and phosphorus-containing fertilizers are applied to the tree in autumn in the ring grooves. Their depth should be no more than fifty centimeters.
  • The plant needs protection from sunburn. For this purpose, a whitewash of the stem is required. To prepare the solution, you need to dilute two kilograms of lime and a kilogram of clay in ten liters of water. No less effective tying of the stem with protective nets and special materials.

Trimming

Every gardener dreams of growing highly productive fruit trees on his plot. To achieve this, it is necessary to correctly and timely implement the formation of the crown and pruning pear trees. This important procedure will help not only to regulate the yield of the tree, the size of the fruit and their sugar content, but also to save it from many of the characteristic diseases of these plants.

Recommendations of gardeners:

  1. The pear is cut more than the apple tree.
  2. The branches of the seedlings are cut to third. This will help the young tree to start forming the crown faster.
  3. Trim the pears every year at the very beginning of spring, when the positive temperature values are set. As a rule, this is the middle of April.
  4. Autumn pruning is not recommended.
  5. If a complete trimming of a branch is required, the cut is carried out at the very base - hemp should not be left.
  6. Branches, covered with fruits, which fall under their weight to the ground, and sometimes lie on it, should be removed.
  7. To increase the yield each year, thin the tree. This procedure will help prevent many diseases and get rid of pests.
  8. On a young tree, only upright and strong shoots are left. Curves and weak ones are removed.
  9. Do not get carried away with pruning. You can not immediately remove a lot of shoots - for a tree it will become a great stress, and not every plant will be able to cope with it. Crop can be no more than a quarter of the total weight of branches.

Reviews of gardeners

Despite the fact that the pear Vidnaya does not belong to the modern development of breeders, judging by the reviews and evaluation of gardeners and gardeners, it is still grown on the backyard and garden plots. The owners explain their choice with the undisputed advantages of this variety, among which are especially distinguished: ecological sustainability, high and, importantly, stable yields, excellent consumer and commodity qualities of fully ripened fruits.

Trees do not require complex care, fruits can be removed in stages, as they mature. Among the advantages of this variety include the excellent taste of fruits. Ripe pulp of completely white color or with a slight yellowish tinge is liked both by adults and children, it differs in oily structure and sweet and sour taste with muscat aftertaste. Fruits are great for fresh consumption, cooking jams, jams, compotes, and drying.

However, gardeners note the only drawback of this variety: the short storage of fruits.
