VAZ 2107M is now in the new body!

A few years ago the Volga Automobile Plant was seriously engaged in the development of the second generation of the legendary "classics" - the VAZ 2107M. The photo of this car on the World Wide Web is only 2, but this is enough for us to devote a separate review to the Volga novelty. So, the technical characteristics and design of the new "seven" are in our article.

As a basis, Russian engineers took the design of the old Soviet "Lada" model 2107, which was produced serially from the 80s of the last century. In fact, the developers produced only a small restyling model.

Externally, the appearance of a car VAZ 2107M has not changed much. In front we are greeted by a new plastic bumper with integrated fog lights and a small grille with the company's logo. Lighting technology is no longer rectangular. Headlights have changed significantly - have become more round and modern. Slightly changed its shape and hood. The rear-view mirrors and the windshield still resemble the shape of the old "seven". The profile of the new VAZ 2107M has undergone the least changes. The body racks are still located between the windows, even the angle of the glasses did not change. As for the reaction of drivers to such a restyling, it is, to put it mildly, not the most positive. If to be objective, then the appearance of the old "seven" in comparison with her younger sister was much better and presentable than now. And if the face of the car in front is more or less harmonious, then in the rear part quite the opposite. "Blind from what was" - these words characterize the exterior of the novelty behind the domestic motorists. Comments here are not relevant, it must be seen.

Quite frankly, not the best version of headlamps and bumpers in comparison with other models of domestic VAZ. The boot lid for some reason became embossed, although it does not give it any aerodynamics and certainly attractiveness. A rounded bumper hardly made the car VAZ 2107M more modern. It's a shame, but a fact.

And what's under the hood?

We hope that the situation with the engines will be more positive. So, before us is a traditional gasoline engine with a volume of 1600 cubic centimeters with a distributed injection and catalytic converter. According to the manufacturer, this power plant now complies with the ecological standard "Euro 2" (although in Germany machines with similar toxicity were produced about 15 years ago). The gearbox is still the same mechanical, in five steps.

Will the serial production of this car?

Despite the fact that the model was developed 7 years ago, it did not appear on the conveyor belt yet, what to say about the exact cost of the machine in the primary market. The manufacturer himself does not know what to do with further development. Yesterday he announced the termination of the production of the seventh "Lada" at all, today he talks about the development of a new modification, supposedly this is the second generation of "classics". Therefore, we can not give exact forecasts regarding the serial production of the model. Perhaps, this is not known to AvtoVAZ itself.
