Can I connect the tablet to the TV and display an image on it

The popularity of tablets in Russia is growing no longer year after year, but literally day by day. There are all new gadgets in both premium and budget segments, and the latter are not far behind in performance from expensive models. Use the tablet in many areas: it's watching videos, photos, music, entertainment and games. Very many gadget owners are interested in whether it is possible to connect the tablet to the TV in order to significantly expand the list of tasks it performs. Let's try to carefully understand this issue and identify some of the nuances.

It should be noted right away that not all devices support this feature. Sometimes you can not display an image from the tablet on the TV in principle, due to the lack of necessary connectors. In some cases, it is enough to purchase the necessary cables or adapters, if not available. Depending on which gadget model you are using, there may be several basic ways to connect. There are only five:

  • HDMI.
  • RCA.
  • Wi-Fi.
  • USB.
  • Converter.

Depending on what kind of goals you pursue (tablet as a drive, video and photoshoots, games, etc.), you must select the appropriate connection method.

HDMI

By connecting the tablet to the TV via HDMI, you will get the best picture in digital format. In addition, this method is most convenient and unpretentious from the point of view of the average user.

The cable, together with the HDMI interface, allows you to transfer all the information from the gadget to the screen, whether it's an image or sound. This synergy includes everything, and there is no need to connect something extra, like a sound or adapter for permissions. This method saves you from extra wires and adapters.

HDMI interface is equipped with almost every modern TV, and most often there are several connectors. All you need to connect is a special HDMI-HDMI cable. It must be connected to the tablet and the TV, and the synchronization of sound and image should occur automatically. If this does not happen, then in the settings of the gadget, you should additionally indicate: "Connecting the device via HDMI", and in the TV menu, find the item "Receiving data via HDMI".

Some ask whether it is possible to connect the tablet to the TV through a non-standard HDMI input. You can, and without any problems. Sometimes manufacturers equip their tablets with variable interfaces, like mini- or micro-HDMI, so you will have to purchase the appropriate cable. Instead of HDMI-HDMI, the prefix will change to your output, for example, micro-HDMI-HDMI).

RCA

Before you watch TV on the tablet, make sure that the latter supports an analog connection. If the HDMI interfaces are busy or not at all, the RCA connection will be a good alternative to the high-speed connection. Simply, such an interface and cables are called "tulips".

The disadvantages are the low quality of the picture due to the analog input and the abundance of wires. In order to synchronize the tablet and TV through the "tulips" you need a converter such as HDMI-RCA or another (depends on the model of your gadget).

At the time of connecting the cable to the TV, it is important to observe the color dispersion: the yellow color is for the image, and the white and red are responsible for the sound. If the gadget is equipped with the ability to connect through the S-Video interface, you will need a special converter for video (S_Vide - HDMI) and two RCA wires for audio (red and white).

Wi-Fi

Can I connect the tablet to my TV via Wi-Fi? Yes, but only if your TV has a Smart feature. Synchronization is possible in two ways:

  • Wi-Fi Direct;
  • Third-party software.

The most unpretentious method is to connect via wi-fi "Direct". Immediately it is necessary to clarify that synergy is possible only if both devices support this function. The connection is made automatically after the function "Searching for a Wi-Fi Direct connection" has been selected on one of the devices.

The second method implies the availability of special software, downloaded from the network or included in the package. Different rulers of the tablet use distinctive operating systems, so there can be several such programs. Find the right software will not be difficult either on the manufacturer's website or on the resources of amateur assemblies. After installing the application, follow the instructions, and the synchronization should be painless.

USB

You can connect the tablet to the TV via USB, but in most cases the gadget will play the role of a simple drive (like a USB flash drive). If the TV supports a menu for third-party drives, then you can find all the multimedia files you are interested in on the tablet and run them directly through the TV.

For connection, you need a regular USB cable to the TV on the one hand and a specific output for your tablet on the other.

Functional converter

Above were the listed main ways to synchronize the gadget and TV, and they are the most popular, but at the same time are good quality picture and sound. But if your gadgets do not have such outputs or they are fundamentally different, is it possible to connect the tablet to the TV?

Yes, you can. There are special multifunction converters that adapt or change the signal to the desired range (for example, from HDMI to VGA). Such devices convert almost all known formats, and you can only choose what exactly you need from one and the other side. But even if this method does not suit you, it makes sense to update your TV, because since 2002, models of famous brands are equipped with high-format HDMI interfaces, and even buying from hands will cost you quite a small amount. Since 2007, all brands of famous brands are beginning to be equipped with universal high-resolution outputs, which are suitable for almost any device capable of transmitting and receiving video signals.

Summarizing

In any case, if your tablet does not support or does not want to synchronize with the TV, then before you change it, you should update the firmware of the gadget and flip through the forums on the official device support sites. It is possible that there is a solution to the problem.
