The tale "Ivan Tsarevich." Main characters, description, summary

Ivan Tsarevich - all of us a well-known and beloved since childhood character. Being the main hero of a huge number of magical stories, he undoubtedly influences events, intertwined in their storylines. The uncomplicated hero makes the folkloric story interesting because of the immediacy of his character and the peculiarities of speech. In what tales is Ivan Tsarevich? Certainly, in their good half. The summary of these stories, their semantic load, the idea and the message, as well as the special features of the image of the young man and other heroes, will be discussed in the article presented to your attention.

The main character of Russian folklore

Many are interested in the question: who and when invented Ivan Tsarevich? Strange as it may seem, the character is relatively young, since he firmly entered the epics and legends only at the end of the 18th century. Invented by the people, he became his personification, a symbol. The prototype is the most ordinary village Vanya Ivan, from which the folkloric character took both positive and negative traits. Usually he is always the third son of the priest-king, in some stories the character has three sisters, performs three tasks, three times goes with a fight against evil forces. Three-fold repetitions in the fairy tale "Ivan Tsarevich and the Gray Wolf", "The Frog Princess" and others are not accidental. The Slavs had three sacred numbers, symbolizing development, movement, origin, origins, harmony. In folkloric stories, it indicates that you do not need to give up, if something is not obtained from the first time: God, as you know, loves the trinity. Instead, it is necessary to go forward, do not give up, do not lose heart.

As already mentioned, Ivan Tsarevich - the embodiment of the Russian people. This character is often positive: he fights against evil, helps the weak, saves the world from the next fiery serpent or immortal Koshchei. And he always receives a reward for all his good deeds: the throne, the kingdom, the beautiful wife, the magic horse, precious objects. Sometimes he has weaknesses in the form of doubts, disobedience. But other heroes return him to the true path, as evidenced by the proverb from the fairy tale "Ivan Tsarevich and the Gray Wolf": "I took hold of the ridge - do not say that it is not dumb." It is this phrase that the beast responded to the hero with his complaints because of the violation of the ban: they say, if something has already started, do not give up, bring the matter to the end without unnecessary wailing. By the way, Ivan Tsarevich can be a negative character: insidious and evil. Then he is opposed to his brothers or his fishing son. At the end of the story, a bad character is always confounded and deservedly punished.

Why a fool?

Any fairy tale teaches good and the world. Ivan Tsarevich, being one of its main characters, often becomes a physical embodiment of nobility and honesty. But often he is exposed by a fool: unlucky, distracted, unskillful. For example, P. P. Ershov successfully described this characteristic of Vanya in "The Humpbacked Horse": "My father had three sons. The eldest was smart. The average was like that. The younger one was a fool at all. " But in a magical way, it is Ivan's foolishness that brings him true happiness, victory, success. All because fools often in Russia called honest, open and just people. They will not cheat, deceive, go to the crime - such generosity of the soul is incomprehensible to pragmatists. But they forget about the payment and reward for the deed. Ivan receives wealth and happiness for his efforts, even if he is a fool.

There is one more version of this nickname. Folklore and anthropologists say that our ancestors, the Slavs, invented a tradition of giving offensive additions to the name. They believed: by negative prefixes they protect their child from evil and misfortunes. The nickname became a charm. Ivan really surprises with his stupid actions. Agree, going to look for the missing bride or the hiding Serpent, he relies not on the mind, but on intuition. In addition, the character is often straightforward, simple and naive, which also does not speak of his wisdom. But in the end he rests on his laurels, unlike his "intelligent" brothers.

The character of Ivan Tsarevich

It is positive. The hero of fairy tales Ivan Tsarevich is a kind person. He disinterestedly helps others, does not think about the benefits. At the same time, he knows how to maintain his own dignity, answering the questions of Baba-Yaga directly, without irony, cunning. Like, you first feed and go to bed, and then we'll have conversations. Ivan is not afraid of her, he quickly takes the initiative in his hands, showing the hardness of character. The character also has diplomatic qualities, he always knows when to ask, and when to order.

The image of Ivan Tsarevich in fairy tales is transformed after the journey he accomplished. And this is not surprising. In ancient Russia, as in other cultures, traveling and wandering around the world is a symbol of pilgrimage, a sacred ritual. During a journey a person succumbs to dangers, temptations, learning to be wise and patient. Therefore, returning to his native land, he becomes more mature, smarter, thinks more interesting and original. After the journey, Vanya changes radically. Having found courageous qualities in the campaign, he retains them. Now he correctly uses his strength and intelligence, about the possibilities of which he had never even suspected.

Ivan and his princesses

Let's first create a conditional fairy tale plan. Ivan Tsarevich lives first - he does not grieve, he lies on the stove. Then the events develop depending on the problem, for example: the threat of Koshchei, the kidnapping of the bride, the order of the father-king. Culmination is a fight with evil spirits. And the story ends with the triumph of good and of Ivan himself. The plot is almost always the same, but the main character can be different.

Depending on his character qualities, the hero also receives the bride:

  • Ivan is a dreamer. Presented in the fairy tale "Elena the Wise." Reflects on the eternal, plays the harp. There must necessarily be Elena the Wise, who, being reasonable and intelligent, forgives the cute eccentricity of her husband, looks at them through her fingers.
  • Ivan is a loser. It is shown in "The Frog Princess". The Russian land is wide, but its arrow falls into a deep swamp. Such a character needs Vasilisa the Beautiful, who is not only beautiful but also resourceful. Thanks to her flexible mind, she not only successfully emerges from unpleasant situations herself, but also saves her husband.
  • Ivan the Good-natured ("Marya Morevna"). He shares bread with the poor and saves animals. A strict wife is necessary for a barmy and a soft wife. This is Mary Princess, a strong and strong-willed woman.

Female images complement the main character, "saturating" him with those qualities, the absence of which he sins. Thanks to this, harmony is created in the fairy tale: in its plot and in the relationships between the characters.

"Ivan Tsarevich and the Grey Wolf"

Who are the main characters of this story, it becomes clear only from the name itself. The talking wolf is one of the central characters, which makes this fairy tale not only magical, but also partly "zoological". The story tells of a family where there is a king and his three sons. Heirs constantly compete not only for the love of their father, but also for the right to receive after his death a throne and wealth. To this end, while fulfilling the instruction of the parent, they try to catch the Firebird, which has entered their garden. Unable to catch the feathered beauty on the spot, they went in search of her. The youngest, Ivan, meets the Gray Wolf, who eats his horse. Simultaneously, the animal begins to serve the prince, fulfilling his assignments: first he becomes a Firebird, then a golden-horse and Elena the Beautiful. By the way, the latter was also ordered to present the restless priest. Unfortunately, the brothers-envious betray Ivan, taking away from him the princess and the Firebird. But the wolf comes to help without the slightest delay - everything falls into place.

The tale "Ivan Tsarevich and the Gray Wolf" is one of the most famous in Russia. On her motives are shot cartoons and films, performances are staged. Even painted pictures: for example, Vasnetsov's masterpiece under the same name. The main character - a wolf - is shown here on the positive side: he is a faithful, honest and noble. But the brothers, even though they are royal blood, are depicted as negative characters: insidious, envious. Not wishing to be seen as losers before their father, they even went on treachery. A fairy tale teaches readers one simple truth: evil breeds the same negative, good always comes back hundredfold. In addition, not everything in life goes to persistence and work: sometimes you need to use cunning and ingenuity.

"Princess Frog"

The main character, with which this fairy tale introduces us, is Ivan Tsarevich. The brief content of this story is familiar to each of us from childhood. At first, the main character seems a loser: his arrow hits the swamp, and he is forced to marry a frog. But in fact he was very lucky. It turned out that his wife - the enchanted Vasilisa the Beautiful. She is beautiful, and very smart. All the tasks-the Tsar's tests-the girl does skillfully and dignifiedly, bypassing her sister-in-law-the husband of the elder brothers. It is clear that such a clever woman could not help but be seen by the evil Koshchei, who steals the girl. Ivan goes in search of her: on the way he meets many animals, which he helps, - pike, drake, hare and bear. At first he wants to eat them, but then he pities and gives everyone a life. For this animals in due time will bring a savior - will help him overcome Koshchei and save the bride.

Like "The Tale of Ivan Tsarevich and the Gray Wolf," this story teaches us love, including to animals. It shows that our smaller brothers are able to help in response to care and custody. The story shows that compassion is always rewarded. At the same time, the present evil - in the form of Koshchei or other evil spirits - will be justly punished. Modesty and purity Vasilisa conquer the arrogance and envy of sister-in-law. A fairy tale teaches that a person is always obliged to achieve his goal. Ivan on his way overcomes many difficulties, but the perseverance and purposefulness of the prince are rewarded. As a result, he saves Vasilisa: they live happily ever after.

"The Tale of Juvenile Apples and Living Water"

The plot of a magical story is typical. "The Tale of Ivan Tsarevich and the Gray Wolf" is very similar to this story. It also has a king and three sons who are trying hard to please his father. Father, when he was old, decided to regain his youth and achieve immortality. To achieve his goal, he needed juvenile apples and living water. And whom did he send to the far end of the kingdom? Of course, heirs. At first, the elder brother, Fyodor, went to look for him, but he managed to be captured by a cunning and crafty girl. Then the luck decided to try the middle son, Basil, but he suffered the same fate. On the younger, from the genus of a true fool, there was no hope. But Father did not have anything else to do but to assign Ivan a similar task.

The prince at the crossroads intuitively made the right choice, so Baba-Yaga helps him to reach the magical garden under the protection of the Blue-Eyes. Then Ivan picked up apples, poured water and went home. The blue-eyed girl caught up with him, but instead of being punished for theft, the prince received her forgiveness and love in addition. On the way, he freed the brothers, then they betrayed the prince. All his services were appropriated by cunning relatives. But the Nagai bird, the faithful friend of Sineglazka, freed him from the abyss and helped restore justice. Ivan married Sin-Eye and lived happily in her kingdom. The main idea of "Fairy tales about juvenile apples ..." - betrayal does not lead to anything good. Youth can not be eternal, it is impossible to attain immortality. The main thing is to live the measured years honestly and nobly. And for egoism, everyone will get what they deserve.

"Marya Morevna"

In what tales is Ivan Tsarevich? In addition to the above, the character is present in a magical story about Marya Morevna. At first, after the death of his parents, he gives out his sisters to marry - for Eagle, Falcon and Crow. Then he meets the beautiful warrior girl Maryou, who soon marries. But, violating the ban of his beloved, Ivan loses her - the evil Koschey kidnaps the girl. In search of his wife, the prince is subjected to numerous tests, including death. To help him come the animals and brother-in-law: in the end, the prince copes with the tasks of Baba-Yaga, overcomes Koshchei and releases Mary.

The idea of a fairy tale is this: obedience is the guarantee of a calm and harmonious life. Because the violation of the ban often leads to numerous troubles. History teaches nobility, patience, determination - they help to cope with difficulties. As a result, good will necessarily triumph. The main thing is to be able to repent in time, admit a mistake and do everything to correct what was done. And also to gain valuable experience, so that you never again make wrong decisions.

"The Sea King and Vasilisa the Wise"

Russian folk tale "Ivan Tsarevich and the Gray Wolf", as well as other magical stories tell us that the line between good and evil is very thin. These two forces always interact, nourish one another. Without light there are no shadows, the latter bring a zest to worldly life. Therefore the story "The Sea Tsar and Vasilisa the Wise" also brings this idea through the whole plot. It tells about the priest, who was captured by the water lord. By negligence, he promises to give what he does not know at home. As luck would have it, this is a little son born in his absence. Over time, a little grown up Ivan goes to the Sea King, but on the way he meets an old woman who tells how to earn the favor of the youngest daughter of a monster and thereby be saved from death.

Once in the water, the prince bravely passes the test - helping him in this young princess, who later becomes his wife. Young successfully escape from the sea abyss to their homeland to Ivan, where they live happily and richly. What does the tale teach? Ivan Tsarevich initially rudely answers the old woman, then corrects and receives valuable advice. The first thing that history brings to us is respect the elders, their wisdom and life experience will help in any difficult situations. The second thing the fairy tale teaches is love and appreciate your land. Having received everything in the foreign land, about what you dream, you will soon grieve for your native places. Nothing is more dear than the Motherland and own family.

conclusions

The positive and negative characters are united by a fairy tale. Ivan Tsarevich in most cases, the hero is positive. In the history of "Crystal Mountain" he was able to properly divide the prey among the animals, for which he was rewarded with the power of reincarnation into a falcon and an ant. Finding miraculous abilities, he managed to conquer the princess and defeat the terrible serpents. As in all the above stories, in this fairy tale he shows his honesty, justice, and ingenuity. Due to good qualities of character, he is strong in overcoming any obstacles.

Therefore any fairy tale teaches young readers of openness, sincerity. The animals represented in it are the same people. Through animal images, folk tales show how one should not treat relatives, friends, colleagues, or just strangers. Any fairy tale says that justice will necessarily triumph. But for this it is necessary to make efforts, wit, show endurance and patience. Events in each magical story can not be ordinary, but they closely intertwine with everyday situations of real life. Bright images help us to see in the cruel reality of the truth, to catch a lie. They teach people to be hard-working, kind and loyal, warn against greed, envy and duplicity.
