The Hanging Gardens of Semiramis are truth or fiction?

Everyone has their own life priorities, goals and values. Some are inspired, considering the adorable paintings of Picasso and Rembrandt, others open their mouths, enjoy fantastic ballet and figure skating, and still others see beauty in the surrounding scenic landscapes. Each of them is right, because beauty is everywhere.

Our ancestors also proved that each epoch brings to mankind something of its own, sometimes super-destructive, and at times edifying, instructive and amazingly beautiful. Thus, the world-famous 7 wonders of the world - created long before the appearance of the generation of our great-grandfathers, they showed the true beauty and splendor to the world. The colossal pyramids of Cheops, the hanging gardens of the Semiramis, the statue of Zeus, the Alexandria lighthouse, the Colossus of Rhodes - a statue of God to Helios on the island of Rhodes, the temple of Artemis and the mausoleum in Halicarnassus.

The only extant witness to the ancient antiquity is the pyramids of the Egyptian pharaoh Cheops. The rest of the works, which our ancestors regarded as great, were destroyed by various natural elements.

An amazing and amazing miracle of the world were the hanging gardens of the Semiramis. Historians still do not have a common opinion about this famous park: some believe that the hanging gardens of Semiramis are just fiction, which has no official confirmation. Others are inclined to believe the manuscripts and works of ancient philosophers, historians and thinkers. There is something to be surprised, because the gardens of Semiramis have nothing to do with the Assyrian ruler - the queen Shamuramat (Semiramida), according to the legends of the most beautiful city of the Ancient East - Babylon. The same, in whose honor the gardens were planted, was called Amitis, and she was the wife of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar. And the gardens grew through a long time after the reign of Shamuramat.

The second fact that calls into question the existence of this miracle, called the Hanging Gardens of Semiramis, is the lack of documentary evidence, except for the works of Diodorus and several other historians who were not with Babylon. In addition, cuneiform tablets of Babylon, as if wishing to give mystery to this object, do not confirm the existence of gardens, but also do not refute it.

If we admit the existence of this miracle of the world, then the following fact becomes interesting: the hanging gardens of the Semiramis were not at all hanging. According to all the same historians and philosophers, they were located on a four-tier structure, and were arranged in such a way that a visual effect of "suspension" was created.

No one could come close to suggesting that it was these hanging gardens of the Semiramis, whose photo, of course, does not exist in its original form, will become the refuge and favorite vacation spot of Alexander the Great. There is a tradition that it was Babylon that became the place where the great military leader stopped the race for power and began to enjoy life. It was in the gardens of Semiramis that Alexander first found peace of mind, and then eternal. The legend says that death overtook the general in the shadow of the trees. Immediately after his death, the gardens began to collapse and disappeared as a result of flooding.
