Contraceptive pills "Diane-35" belong to the group of combined drugs. The medication contains ethinyl estradiol (estrogen) and cyproterone acetate (antiandrogen), which has a gestagenic effect. The contraceptive effect is ensured by maintaining a high viscosity of the secretion of the cervix, which prevents penetration of the body (uterus) of spermatozoa into the cavity.

The effect of cyproterone acetate provides blockage of androgen receptors, reducing the phenomenon of androgenization in women (alopecia, hair growth in men, increased secretion of sebum).

The use of the drug significantly reduces the number of available acne, prevents the appearance of new ones.

In addition to antiandrogenic effects, cyproterone acetate has a gestagenic effect. This causes a delay in ovulation and a contraceptive effect, respectively.

The contraceptive effect of the drug begins to appear on the fourteenth day from the beginning of the application and is present during the seven-day break in admission.

It is not recommended to stay in the sun for a long time, due to the risk of formation of pigment spots on the face. It is extremely rare to be intolerant when using contact lenses.

It should be noted that the increased manifestation of the above reactions is more likely with uncontrolled (independent) intake of hormonal drugs. The risk of development of undesirable consequences is minimal at competent selection of preparations.

Contraindicated is the drug "Diane-35" with a tendency to form blood clots, with lactation, expressed disorders of the function or liver tumors, sickle-gland anemia, pregnancy, diabetes mellitus accompanied by cardiovascular disorders. No drug is prescribed for endometriosis, tumors of the uterus, mammary gland, idiopathic jaundice of pregnant women, lipid metabolism disorders. Also, a contraindication is otosclerosis of a progressive nature in the period of the previous gestation.

Before and every six months of using the drug, a general and gynecological examination is recommended. When there is a headache (migraine-like), sudden eye or hearing disorders and other undesirable consequences when taking Diane-35 medication, immediately stop the medication and consult a doctor.
