This drug is available as a white powder, which has no odor and is called "Aminocaproic acid". The form of release of this agent can be in the form of a ready solution for intramuscular injection, and the powder is intended for oral administration.

The drug is a hemostatic agent and is used in the presence of bleeding, which are caused by fibrinolysis. The drug "Aminocaproic acid" increases the antitoxic function of the liver and has a moderate anti-shock and anti-allergic effect.

After the dissolved powder is ingested, it is quickly absorbed into the digestive tract and within two hours its maximum concentration is noted. With the blood proteins, the drug "Aminocaproic acid" practically does not bind. The main part of the remedy is excreted by the kidneys unchanged, and only a part of it is biotransformed in the liver. If the kidneys function well, more than half of the dose administered is excreted from the body throughout the day. If there are problems in the work of the urinary organs, then it is possible to accumulate this remedy.

Indications for use

The drug "Aminocaproic acid" is used when it is necessary to treat and prevent parenchymal hemorrhages, as well as menorrhagia and hemorrhages from the mucous membranes. It is used, and if necessary, to stop bleeding that occurs during operations on the pancreas, lungs, liver, from erosions and ulcers (both intestines and stomach). Also, the drug is used for various types of hyperfibrinolysis, including those associated with massive transfusion of canned blood, the use of thrombolytic drugs.

Recommended doses of the drug and the way it is used

The medicine "Aminocaproic acid" is prescribed inside and it should be taken only at the time of food intake or immediately after it. To do this, the powder must be dissolved in a small amount of slightly sweetened water, and then it and drink it. The daily dose for adult patients is from 5 to 24 grams, which corresponds to 5-24 packets of the drug. This dose should be divided into several receptions, usually 4 to 6 times throughout the day.

If the drug is prescribed for children under the age of one year, at a time it is recommended to take 0.05 grams of the drug per kilogram of the child's weight, but the dose should not exceed 1 gram per day. For children under 3 years, respectively, not more than 3 grams, for children under 7 years - 6 bags and up to 10 years - up to 9 grams per day. For adolescents after 10 years of age, the daily dose of the drug should not be more than 15 grams.

If the drug "Aminocaproic acid" is used in the treatment of acute bleeding, then for adults, first prescribe 5 grams of the drug, and then for no more than 8 hours per hour for 1 sachet, until the bleeding completely stops. Children who have not reached the age of one year, in such cases, are prescribed up to 6 grams of the drug, up to 3 years - 9 sachets, up to 7 years - 12 sachets, up to 10 years - 18 sachets of the said product.

In the presence of adult subarachnoid hemorrhage - the daily dose is 9 grams.

The course of treatment with the drug "Aminocaproic acid" can be from three days to two weeks. If there is a need, you can re-treat.

Side effect

After using this tool, arrhythmia, orthostatic hypotension, bradycardia and subendocardial hemorrhage may occur. If the drug is taken more than a week in high doses, then the appearance of hemorrhage. Adverse reactions of the body are the presence of noise in the ears, headache, dizziness, the appearance of seizures, as well as myoglobinuria, skin rash, acute renal failure and rhabdomyolysis. After the amount of the drug taken is reduced, usually all the side effects go away.
