The Canary archipelago of Gran Canaria

Every year the Spanish island of the Canary archipelago Gran Canaria accepts on its territories more than one and a half million tourists from all over the world. Everyone who prefers beach holidays in Spain should visit here. The mild climate of the island allows tourists to swim in the ocean all year round, a variety of landscapes and landscapes motivate people to go on excursions and hikes, and a lot of entertaining establishments do not get bored ever. This is what Gran Canaria has already liked so many tourists who chose tours to Spain on this island.

The total area of the island of Gran Canaria is about 1500 square kilometers, and each of these 1500 square kilometers is different from the other. There are several small volcanoes (which have been incapacitated for a long time already), deep ravines and gorges, desert terrain, pine forests, sandy and rocky beaches. This island is often called the "micro continent". Gran Canaria has the form of an irregular hemisphere, the diameter of the base is about sixty kilometers, and the height is about two kilometers.

The island of Gran Canaria is relatively densely populated for its size, taking into account the characteristics of the landscape. Here live more than eight hundred thousand people, almost all of them are native inhabitants of the Canary archipelago.

Conditionally, the entire Gran Canaria is divided into two large areas: north-west and south-east. They differ in the climate and landscape and are divided among themselves by a mountain massif.

For the north-western part of Gran Canaria is characterized by the presence of mountains, ravines, gorges, rocky and steep ocean shores. In these areas, a lot of precipitation falls and often there are strong winds. The temperature of the water allows you to swim only in the summer months, in the winter, of course, also bathe, but only the most courageous tourists. The north of the island is more suitable for walking, hiking and cognitive recreation. For those who love this kind of pastime, there is even a system of branched hiking trails that lead tourists to the most interesting places and amazing landscapes. The ideal option for curious tourists is to rent a car and immerse yourself in a world of spectacular gorges, green slopes and black volcanoes.

The southern part of the island is the complete opposite of the northern one. The climate here is dry and hot, there is little precipitation, and the coast of the Atlantic Ocean is represented by sandy beaches with a gentle entrance to the water. The air temperature in the south is always higher than in the north, but insignificantly, but the temperature of the water from the north differs quite strongly. Even in the coldest month of the year, February, tourists bravely swim in the ocean and not be afraid to take their children with them. The temperature of the water will be 25 ° C.

On the edges of its round base Gran Canaria has about 150 beaches, most of which are sandy.

Many Russian tourists have already chosen for their holidays tours to Spain on the island of Gran Canaria and were very pleased. But still this direction is more popular among Europeans, especially among the British.

The Spanish island of Gran Canaria with its mild climate, stunning nature and an abundance of entertainment is waiting and happy to welcome new tourists. At the southern resorts of the island for the Russians there are even special hotels in which Russian-speaking staff work.

I wish that your holiday in Spain was unforgettable!
