Sword of origami. How to make a sword according to the scheme?

Weapon origami many collect, finding all new and interesting models. Children can play with such models and present themselves in the role of a ninja, or King Arthur, or Frodo, who saves the world from Saruman. Creating origami from paper, weapons of the sword in particular - a very interesting lesson for children and adults.

What kind of weapons can be done with the art of origami?

One of the simple and rather interesting models is the origami sword. The most various swords are obtained from paper using conventional techniques and schemes. You can make and sword katanu, and knightly, and even a pirated specimen. And if you try and master more interesting schemes, then you can create an elegant sword-origami for the musketeers.

In addition to swords, amateurs and collectors perform ax models and ninja weapons - shurikens and even revolvers. But everyone can make a sword from paper, even after a cursory review of the scheme.

The simplest sword

Let's start with the simplest model, the shape of which exactly corresponds to the real sword of the Middle Ages, but it is completely safe. This figure has no fine bends and is not a three-dimensional object. Therefore, the study of this art can begin with these models.

We will write down in detail and step by step how to make an origami sword. In order for a novice to have the opportunity to present details of the craft in his imagination, let's imagine a photo scheme.

  • Cut out the square from the colored paper. We add the figure diagonally and vertically; Make a blank for a sword from a double square.
  • Two opposite angles bend inwards. The remaining "languages" of the paper are pivoted so as not to interfere.

  • The lower part of the sword is formed with the help of the "double bend" technique.
  • Then you need to make thinner the future handle of the sword. Do this as shown in the picture.

  • In conclusion, we make one more deflection. And from a separate piece of paper we form the part of the hilt that will attach to the sword at the very end.

When everything is assembled, there is quite a decent copy of the sword. And most importantly, you need to clearly calculate the size of the second element, which is put on and attached to the sword. This hilt should firmly and accurately gain a foothold on a paper craft and do not fall off.

Sword-dirk of paper

Another very simple scheme has been developed, it is more "carved" and, accordingly, one level is more complicated. Origami-sword of paper on this scheme - the most cute and everyone will like.

This dirk is made from one sheet of A4 paper. The sheet is folded diagonally so that an even square is obtained. And the rest is cleaned with scissors. The following actions are:

  1. The simplest form is made - a double square. On one of its sides the angles are bent to the center - to an imaginary vertical line. It is necessary to iron the lines well and hide the excess paper inside the formed "pocket".
  2. The triangle unfolds and becomes a single movement in a rhombus. The sides of the rhomb are turned.
  3. We turn the craft on the other side. In the same way we make bends, but in the other direction.
  4. We return to the rhombus. Lower angles protruding to the sides are tightened. The element will be the blade of the sword, which gradually thickens.
  5. Now a very important point. Expand the entire folded object. And in a place where two rhombuses (lower and upper) intersect, it is necessary to draw a horizontal line with a pencil. And bend this element along the line.
  6. We collect all the lines already folded again. There remain two triangles, which by means of a special technique (deflection outwards) are turned in opposite directions. So the blade of the sword separates from the handle.
  7. Then we add the final elements. The second side of the sword is thinned. We fix the whole craft when we bend the second, smaller diamond.
  8. We turn the lateral triangles down, again using the angle bend. We sharpen them, bending small details.

We finish the folding of the hilt and put the craft on the place of honor - where everyone will see your efforts.

Complexity of the scheme

You need to start from the very beginning: to study the simplest figures and banal schemes. But if some experience has already been accumulated in the art of origami, for such an amateur it is worth choosing schemes of medium complexity. Now you can create an origami sword, the scheme of which will already contain the smallest bends or require scrupulous work with the corners.

More advanced 3D schemes

To learn a few simple schemes, you need only a little enthusiasm. As for the more complex versions of swords, you need to work hard with them. Volumetric schemes are not obtained "rally", some figures are done for months, a lot of paper is spent on such experiments. Especially if the scheme contains previously unexamined techniques. But sometimes it's worth it.

If you start with simple and trivial models, you can learn perseverance. And at the same time teach your children this. And over time, you can master and such models as the sword-origami of King Arthur.

Who would not want a boy to see a sword in his house, like King Arthur himself? But the complexity of large and bulky models of origami is that every movement, every bend, must be absolutely accurate, under the ruler. If the elements are paired, they must match each other up to a millimeter. One wrong item will ruin the whole craft. Since all the details form a single whole.

What kind of paper is suitable for origami swords?

The best paper for origami crafts is medium-strength colored office paper. It's not glossy and not too hard, so it's perfect for both modular origami and conventional models. Yet this is not a "golden" rule. Each person chooses which paper is more convenient for him to use. To make a sword-origami, it is quite enough simple white paper, which is used for printing. However, thin paper is more suitable for complex products, office paper is too thick to create volumetric models.
