Stained glass gels: what is it, how to apply and why to use it

The art of drawing a beautiful drawing on the nails can also be learned independently, as shown by the many years of practice of home masters and craftsmen. Especially when you consider how much today there are various means for this. For example, stained glass gels for nails, which are used not only for building.

What it is

Before you go for a purchase, it is worth to find out what stained glass gels are. In fact, these are the same colored gels for building, only with a translucent base. And they are used not only for modeling, but also for manicure. Stained glass gels tend to have a more liquid consistency than conventional color gels. But this does not make them difficult to apply. When used correctly, the material is laid down as easily as any other gel or gel-lacquer. And the period of preservation of manicure depends only on how accurately the technology of application was observed.

Application in building up

Most often with the help of stained glass gels perform an aquarium or crystal design when modeling nails. The free edge, made by a translucent color, turns out very delicate, fragile in appearance. Nails are modeled just like any other gel. Often, the "stained-glass window" is flooded with a ready-made decorative design, made with broths, mica, feathers and other materials. In this case, it turns out as if drowned in a gel, as under a layer of glass or water. This is the aquarium design, so popular from 2013 to this day.

Manicure on natural nails

Stained glass gels in this technology are not used often, but in vain! With their help, you can perform an unusual and stylish design, which will give the nails extra strength: they will not break and separate, and the manicure does not peel off for a few days, as happens with ordinary varnish. By the way, now not only stained glass gels are being sold, but also gel-varnishes. And manicure they perform a pleasure. How to apply stained glass gel-varnish on natural nails? First, prepare the marigolds: remove the cuticle, trim the excess free edge, remove the greasy sheen with a degreaser and a soft buff. After this, it is necessary to apply a transparent base for the gel-varnish, which dries in the UV lamp. Just a minute, not too long. After that, a stained glass gel-lacquer is applied, the brush of which is carefully pressed against the edge of the bottle to remove the excess. On a dried, but not completely dried layer, you can put decorative elements: foil, mica and others, and then dry again in a UV lamp. To keep the appliance stronger, it is again covered with stained glass gel, and then with a fixer (top). You do not have to cut it, as with the build-up.

Design Options

When doing a pattern on the nails, you can stick to two lines: make either an abstract picture, or a thematic drawing. And the one and the other options look effectively under stained glass gel. The pattern is recessed, but smooth to the touch. It is noteworthy that with the help of stained-glass windows, the design of "liquid stones" is carried out, too, when the gemstone is lying on the nails. Stained-glass gel "Impulse" of the domestic company has won love among the masters with its palette. Many choose this company because, despite the translucent effect, the colors remain bright and dense. It is they who carry out "liquid stones" most often.

The cost of one jar of stained-glass paint "Impulse" varies between 250-350 rubles, depending on the volume and color. Foil for design can be used any: detachable, piece, roll - which is convenient. Some even apply for "liquid stones" the usual food, which does not affect the result.
