Leila, Lina and Lily Lewik do not expect medals when she goes to the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. However, these Estonian runners-marathons will definitely go down in history as the first triplets, playing for their country together.
Unusual achievement
The triplets will go to the Olympics for the first time. Surprisingly, they are now thirty years old, but they began seriously to run for long distances only in 24 years. Leila has the best result among all three sisters - in 2013 she ran a marathon in 2 hours and 37 minutes. The second indicator for Lina, and the third - for Lily.
Triplets for the Olympics
"We loved physical activity from early childhood. We liked to dance, we liked being active, and it pushed us to professional sports, "Lily said. Lina chose to run for all sisters as a sport discipline. Sisters train together, in winter, going to a high-altitude camp in Kenya. In the summer, they were preparing for the Olympics in northern Italy. The Olympics in Rio de Janeiro will not be the first tournament in which they will confront each other. For example, the last time the three of them participated together in the 15th IAAF Championships in Beijing. When they practiced before the Olympics, their slogan was the saying "Trio in Rio" - and it will soon become reality. To the press, the sisters were told that their main goal is to complete the marathon all together, establish the best personal results, and finish running with a smile on their face. Thus, it remains only to wait a little - and all sports lovers will be able to see these three sisters on the treadmill. And then you can find out if they were able to fulfill their dream, whether the race was over together and whether they had a smile on their faces. Who knows, maybe they will surprise and show incredible results?
