Sights of Syzran: photos and description

G. Syzran (attractions will be described further) is a small town that is located in the Samara region. This settlement is situated on one of the banks of the vast Volga. The name of the city came from the same name river Syzran. But today this reservoir is called Syzranka. People of what kind of nationality do not live here! They are Ukrainians, Russians, Armenians, Tatars.

Start the tour

As mentioned above, Syzran is a multinational city, therefore, the sights here belong to different cultures. So, I would like to mention the Syzran mosque. There are four similar cult buildings in the city. But we will talk about what is on the street. The Decembrists. This building was built in 1990. Later the house was purchased by Alexey Rakhmatulin. But, having heard the request of his parent, Alexey gave the house to Nail Amirov. He was an imam-hatib and had to convert the building into a mosque.

Many sights of Syzran have an amazing history. And the mosque was no exception. For the Muslims of this city, its opening became a real holiday and a great event. After all, before the foundation of this institution, they were forced to conduct their services on their own homes. The mosque can simultaneously accommodate about half a thousand people.

Another religious building

Kazan Cathedral is no less important cultural and religious object than the mosque. The temple was erected in 1872. It was built on the site of the former Mother of God monastery (Syzran). Many people start to visit the sights of the city from here. The settlement received the cathedral due to the funds of citizens and donations of a private nature. In a word, with the world on a string.

The main throne of the church was consecrated in 1872, and it bears the name of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. At the end of five months, the second throne was consecrated, which was given the name of Alexander Nevsky. This cathedral with five chapters was considered the most beautiful local construction. In 1906 a disaster came to Syzran. The city was enveloped in fire, but the majestic temple did not suffer at all. And all thanks to the watchman, who managed to extinguish the flame, as soon as his tongues touched the fence of the holy place. But some destruction still occurred. The gatehouse and bell tower burned down. In the thirties of the last century the church was closed. During the war, the believers defended it, and it was reopened.

The Kremlin, but not Moscow

The sights of Syzran are very much loved by travelers. Many strive to get into this town and admire the local "celebrities". One of these stars is the Kremlin. Yes, Syzran also has its own complex under this name. And the existence of the city began precisely with him. By decree of Peter I in the XVII-XVIII centuries this monument of architecture was founded. The territory where today the town is located, in former times was regularly attacked by nomadic tribes and robbers. The village was poorly fortified. So the Kremlin had to become a kind of fortification.

Originally there were five towers: four of wood and one of stone, which alone managed to live up to the present. Many of the sights of Syzran were destroyed and could not save their pristine greatness to our days. This remaining tower is called Spasskaya, and it served as the main gateway to the Kremlin. In it there is an unsurpassed hipped roof. In 1717 the Nativity Church appeared. After a short time, they decided to rebuild it. Today it is contemplated as it was reborn in 1730. The Kremlin of Syzran only once took part in combat battles. This was when he was captured by the army of Emelian Pugachev.

Song hits from Syzran

Tourists know that this is a beautiful and comfortable city. And the sights of Syzran are very different: from the world famous to the ones that only local residents know about. If you turn from the central city street to Proletarsky Lane and go down to the Krym River, you will see an old and pretty battered house. There are no signs on it.

This house before the revolution was the property of Hertz Simonovich Kristalinsky. He was the grandfather of the famous performer Maya Kristalinskaya. Even during the First World War, Hertz Simonovic moved to Syzran from Mogilev. He rented the apartment of his house to the tuner of musical instruments Ilya Ilyich Ostrovsky. After many years, Arkady, the son of Ilya Ilyich, will become the famous author of such hits as "The Sunshine Circle", "Sleeping tired toys", "The song remains with the man" and others. It was in this inconspicuous house that the famous composer spent his childhood, under the lullaby of which more than one generation of children is falling asleep.

All mansions mansion

The amazing city of Syzran! Sights, photos of which are in our review, can not leave indifferent. But he is known for another architectural masterpiece. Its name is Sterlyadkin's mansion. Its construction took place during 1908-1914. This is the most beautiful architectural monument of Syzran. The customer of the structure was the merchant Sergey Sterlyadkin. During the construction work, the most innovative materials of that time were used: facing bricks and multi-colored finishing tiles.
